Awsome Evader Setup!

Ok got a really good idea for my b-day! Im going to put a .18 size OS engine in it but just any os engine this- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXHLV7&P=K I have a friend that lives accros town but has the cv-rx in his rc10gt but the rc10gt and the evader are alike so ya but weve been competing on whos truck is better for about 3 months now. Well that engine will make the decision clear. But hold on to your seat belts i have many things that i am getting for my evader including a new servo so i dont strip them anymore- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXLN95&P=K I am sick and tired of the junky stock evader tank so im putting a rc10gt tank in it- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXCXT8&P=K I also need a new muffler in my evader so i am getting a stock monster gt pipe- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXLDF4&P=K
A new manifold for my os engine- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXFBA0&P=K
And two sets of these babys- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXUM93&P=K
And these- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXDNC5&P=K
I also had a crappy failsafe cant really remember what it was called but i am now getting this one- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXDNC5&P=K

I really hope that this setup works and hope that I can out run my friends rc10gt and my dads warhead lol.
I will try to get a video of me bashing it later this month so keep this forum up till then.

The servo is a mini, but you need a standard size. Try the Hitec HS-645MG and i don't believe the wheels will work. They are hex wheels and the evader uses a pin. I like the proline velocities. Hopefully the pipe and manifold will work with the rear exhaust engine and have fun.

im not sure the Monster GT pipe will make a diff. It is alot bigger than the stock pipe so im not sure if it will fit the evader. The evader pipe is one of the very few 18 pipes out there and i think it works great. And the power of the engine dosnt make the better truck. U need to be able to control the power and the TZ18 has a tonne of power. Also im not sure that that header will work. IF my memory serves me right the RS4s engine faces to the front of the car and the evaders engine faces to the side. So your pipe will be sitting on the tranny case or over the fuel tank with that manifold.

no im pretty sure that this will work.

the monster gt's pipe wont work, it wont send enough pressure back to the tank and you'll lean out and die. i tried my savage pipe on my mt2, and it went like a bat out of hell for about 30 seconds then it leans out and dies. just get a .12- .18 low end tuned pipe it'll be enough. but you won't be able to control the 18 TZ 's power with two wheel drive unless you are a phenomonal driver.and you need a different manifold than the rs4's engine. trust me. i have the rs4 mt2 with the 18 tz in it.

ok I went over what peeps were saying to me and it sounds like the os 18 tz is to powerful or sumthing around those edges so I decided to make this my engine setup.

Engine- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHFB6&P=7

Manifold/Pipe- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXDTA2&P=K

What will I need clutch bell and flywheel etc?

Well for an Evader, that engine wont fit. The crankshaft is only 5mm long from the engine (it's a short crank). And don't you already have that pipe on the Evader, it's the stock pipe.

Will the stock pipe and header work with the cv-rx .18?

Yup

RE: Awsome Evader Setup!

yes. If you didn't already know, the stock engine IS an .18

RE: Awsome Evader Setup!

your best choice dude would be to go with the OS18CVRX it is a direct drop in and has more than enough torque and speed for your needs. For the power of the negine u will need a alloy diff also. Stick with the stock header and pipe cause it is one of the only 18 pipes out there. If u want them claw rims the XXXNT model for that rim will fit the evader. The mashers will increase the speed a bit and the engine has enough power to push them. Definately get a high speed, high torque MG servo for the steering, u will need it for the mashers. BTW the RC10GT is the better truck of the 2. It is stronger and alot more agile. I have an evader and love it but the RC10GT is the better truck. :D
