**Engine**?

I plan on getting a Associated GT2 soon to race, and I Would like some engine reccomendations, for club racing. I would prefer it not be too much. and cant cost more the $250. BUt ive never seen any engine that costs more then this apart from modded ones. I would prefer it cost around $200 becuase that seems like the normal price for a race engine.

OS .12 tz rocks, is around 200 bucks, might even look into the ninja .12 engine. My tz engines run great and has about 3 gallons in it without replacing anything out side of the norm-glow plugs, air filters and flywheel bearings.

For club racing I would get the OS .18 CV-R and you can pick them up for about $110.

RE: **Engine**?

You cant racer .18's can you? From everything i know its only .12's. I like the .12 TZ alot from my on-road racing, which version do i need for my associated GT2? On the Associated site it says i need a Roatary carb and SG typr crankshaft, and that standard engine will fit if I buy [link=http://this]http://www.teamassociated.com/enlarge/2312.htm[/link] clutchnut

Well considering hoe OS doesnt make a .12 TZ like that it would work fine if i got one with a standard crankshaft, and bought ths part right?[link=http://www.teamassociated.com/enlarge/2312.htm]http://www.teamassociated.com/enlarge/2312.htm[/link]

Depends on the track but most local small tracks will let you run what ever. Now when you talk big sanctions just depends on the class and the sanction. I know at my local track you can run them and most of the track in middle Georgia let you.
The make the OS .18 CV-R in both short and standard crank shafts with either rotary or slide carburetor. All so they make it with or with out a pull starter if you are going to use a starter box or not.

Guys ive been looking and i havent even found any .12 engines that come with a pilot shaft, and a roatary carb, which are both things it says you need on the Associated site. Am i gonna be forced to buying pilot shaft engine and putting a rotary carb on it?

Ok badck to that LRp engine i was talking about, if you look closely at the pics on the Team associated site the engine they have in the car is an LRTp engine? WHich on are they talking about?

Edit: I looked around some more and on the Associated site it says the engine is the LRP Z.12R engine, I checked and thats an on-road engine that comes with a slide carb. I looked all over the site, and is there another version for off-road use?

RE: **Engine**?

all 12's are onroad engines, there are only very few specific ofroad nes, just get a tz with the slide it will be fine.

lOOK AT THE PICTURE THERE NO WAY A SLIDE CARB COULD WORK WITH THAT THROTTLE SET-UP. Sorry for Caps didnt realize.

RE: **Engine**?

yes it will it always will, u just change the linkage setup. its really easy to make that work, see where the brake linkage is? make that go to the slide, and then with a different horn obviously, opposite that is where the brakes go.

Here this pic will explain, it shows the crezenzi racing brake setup but it doesnt matter. and trust me i race with an axe rossi slide carb engine. the purple in the pic is the throttle and the rest is self explanatory.

RE: **Engine**?

Wait that pink line is dran on, so how do you have the throttle attached to the Car. Also look how much farther away the carb is in the picture avoe, trying to hook up thge linkage would be too steep an angle

dannthenitroman 08-25-2006 05:28 PM

RE: **Engine**?

no, the carb rotates for a reason, and i have drawn the pink line for the throttle because i took this picture from a website advertising their brake and it did not have the throttle hooked up, and yes this works fine lots of people have this setup in all stadiums.
