Another Evader St Prob.

Geez, I must just suck at this or something. I was running my truck about 30 - 45 min. before a race w/ my friends at a public skool. I was on the grass, and all of a sudden truck won't move. I assume the clutch tightened itself again, and the diff gear blew. Then I realize the SPUR gear was getting chewed up. I turn it on again, the motor gear spins, and just eats away at the spur till no more teeth are left! The spur doesn't spin at all, it will just get 3-5 teeth eaten where the motor is spinning. However, when I gas it the spur will go a little, just very slowly. Did the clutch overtighten itself to much? Can I buy a metal spur gear w/o wearing the engine and blowing the engine gear? *** is with this truck. I went to the hobby shop so far for:
1: Buy truck
2: Buy Diff Gear
3: Buy Another Diff Gear
4: New Glow Plug + Tires
5: New Starter
6: Diff Gear + Diff Balls
7: TOMMAROW - Fricking Spur Gear

next time check your spur gear to make sure tight and the cb.

Well, check the mesh between the cb and the spur. That is the only reason it could strip. YOu can find directions online about how to mesh the spur and cb. Also, after diff break in, if you have done as the manual says to, tighten the diff a lil every few tanks. That will save it, even a plastic one. Initially, the hobby sucks, I learned that the hard way w/ my parents not to happy either. But now I have 2 evaders and I love it.

lol, if i got to list all the stuff i've buy at LHS this summer....the list will be sky high.

well well, still not patient with your car uh?? yeah i remember you NathanJPeter, i'm the one who told you to get an attitude and just relax. then you post me back that you finally fix your car, and it was easy. i think you better stop complain about your truck and join the evader tread circle. you will get serious help there. if i remember right, your father have a blackfoot, right? if he is experimented with RC, ask him for some help too.

so for now on, post on evader st 2.0 tread, and i promise you will be blast with help. Me, ferrariowner, STPWNNR, DocPhysic and Frank88888888 are checking on this tread often. you will get serious help from us.

your evader deserve attention. you know, we did ad problem on our own too, but once you got control of that beast, its a total blast. no wonder why their is so many evader owner. give yourself sometime to learn nitro.

Dont involve me with him. Ive never met the guy b4. Hes over 1000 miles from me. Unless its Traxxas or Ofna, I dont want anything to do with it. Ive stripped my Evader of the motor, tires/wheels, shocks and electronics and tossed the rest in a box and shoved it in the attic. Tired of all the problems and lack of help other then getting *****ed at for this or that because of the "Evader is best" attitude.

well first, i didn't involve you with him, READ RIGHT i say HIS FATHER have a blackfoot.

second, i know what your talking about, i leave RCU once because of that too. but i think you should take a look at the 2.0 now. everything is better since non evader owner stay away from the tread.

The only reason I'm pissed is because this truck is RTR. Ready to Run. I didn't buy a kit with a racing engine, I bought it to have fun. I've spent over 100.00 in just replacement crap that should work on a new truck, not counting normal stuff like tires or plugs. Anyway I stuck a new gear in and it stripped immediatly. It seems to mesh good and tight. Both the motor and gear box are bolted down as tight as possible. The thing that bothers me is that it just randomly started stripping. I didn't adjust anything before hand.

If you're having trouble, just get aluminum. The evader actually sucks until you get the diff worked out. My avatar is pom-pom from www.homestarrunner.com
