I am looking for a new engine for my rusty

should i just rebuild the 2.5 that is on thare, or should i get a new engine,


I heard OS engines work


what engines can i just bolt on, no modification.

The O.S .18cvr has some insane power. Very easy to tune and very reliable, and holds that tune like you wouldnt believe . The .18cvr should drop in without a whole bunch of mods and would be well worth it. And it's only $109.99 for the pull start version. Or if you dont want that much power the .12cvr has a ton of power but without as much torque. The torque on the .18cvr will have you doing wheelies without a problem. The .12 does not have as much torque and you will be a little hard pressed to find wheelie's but it still screams and is a very good choice. That engine will cost about the same maybe a little more then the .18cvr. But I would definately get a new engine though.

anything with more power than the trx 2.5 or 2.5r is pointless in a rusty. If you want to replace your 2.5, most drivers will reccomend a .12 in its place. Anyting bigger than the trx motors is generally going to be wasted power and just make the thing miserable to control, unless you are running on pavement or just on flat straights.

My NR is doing great with a .12 CV.

Most O.S. pull start engines will require a small amount of dremel work to the engine mount. It's very easy.

Rebuild the 2.5 or do the exchange program at a LHS that carries Traxxas, they give you a fresh motor at a fraction of the cost of new w/exchange. Keep your Traxxas all Traxxas.

Hemm well its tough, if you can tune the rusty, keep it. if you still cant easily, get a 12cv-r. it wont pull wheelies at all on dirt, but it is still FAST. its got low torque and high power and that makes it ideal for a 2wd stadium engine. which i can figure is what it was designed for.

yea if anything stick with the 2.5 cause if you go to a bigger engine then that in a rusty it will give you problems like things will begin to break cause traxxas even rcomends only 2.5 for the most powerful in the rusty. but it's your choose don't say we didn't warn you.
