What is the difference between an sg shaft and a reg. shaft.?

I believe an SG shaft is shorter.

im looking for an angine for my x-c and dont know if i need sg, reg or if it even matters.?

The engine is an SG shaft. It will work if the engine a standard, but you will have to dremel some off.

Hi,

SG shaft is much longer. A standard shaft has threads all over while the SG/Pilot shaft is partially threaded at center. Nowadays, most r/c cars would use engines with SG shafts because they are simply more convenient for mounting flywheel and clutch.

Yess sg is the best for rc but standard threaded is most versatile.
