GT2 RTR Engine question
 

I was going over my new GT2, and noticed a white air flow restrictor in the carb. I was told that this could be removed and it would increase in performance, it makes sence, but is it really that simple? Or is it something that should remain in there?

I don't know what you mean. Is it a small piece of foam lodged in the carb opening? If so, you can take it out.

Not foam.....It is hard plastic inside the carb air intake.......It litteraly cuts the opening in the carb down to about half.

Wow, never heard of that. But yea, you can take it out. You don't wanna choke the engine of air.

i was told by AE tech support themself that the first thing i should do after break in is remove it and have fun.
he said something about alot of RTR are purchased by people that never ran one before and it slows it down. it is nothing more then a restrictor

FYI keep in mind that you will have to readjust the carb a bit. once you remove it you will find that it runs at a higher RPM and the truck will move at idle. you will have to tune it down a bit.

There is one of these on my tc3, never thought of taking it out though.

I normally see restrictors as carb ventri but I guess not all are.
I suggest taking it out first because the stock motor doesn't have alot of power and you won't have to worry about tuning it later on when you take it out.
