problem tuning
hi. i have the rush evo with the t-15 engine in. im trying to tune it and have set it to factory settings. but whatever the needles are set to it stalls. i have to keep revving it just to try and stop it stalling it seems to stall all the time[:@] i think its the low speed needle thats playing up i have set it flush with the carburettor and 1 turn inwards e.t.c. but it still stalls at idle.

RE: problem tuning
adjust your idle im not sure someone correct me but i believe its turn outwords
|
RE: problem tuning
the idleing screw is the problem, this is located under/next to the air filter, and wen u take the filter out u should see a 1mm opening in the carb, if not use the adjustments on your transmitter, the one that says throttle and tweak until 1mm opening in the carb

RE: problem tuning
I have experience with 3 T-15 engines of one of my friends all of them where new. One ran fine and the other two I had to seal the engine for them to run properly or even stay running as they where sucking air. All so if you have the stock tank with the primer they are notorious for sucking air and is why most go to the race tank with out the primer as if it is not sucking air it will sooner or later. I am sorry to say the T-15 is not the best engine and I hate saying that, as I am a HPI person. This many not be your problem just want to give you a heads up.

RE: problem tuning
i have heard it could be a problem with the clutch springs? i don't think it has anything to do with the idle speed.
|
RE: problem tuning
if it is ur clutch springs it would stall when u put it on the floor
|
RE: problem tuning
you never adjust your idle from the transmitter hold the brakes on and adjust it by turning the screw clockwise ( WHICH IS IN ! ) . until the car will idle like that. thats the first step in getting it right.
|
RE: problem tuning
okthanks dan i will try that later on today[8D]
|
RE: problem tuning
then of course adjustthe transmitter so when itsneutral its NOTG revving the car and go from there.
|
RE: problem tuning
no luck[:o] i just tried adjusting the idle and it still stalls, unless i hold it off the ground then it seems to be ok. so i am pretty sure now its the clutch springs
|
RE: problem tuning
should i go ahead and get the clutch springs?
|
RE: problem tuning
anyone? (sorry had to stop post from getting lost on next page)
|
RE: problem tuning
well i went to the lhs yesterday but they didn't have any clutch springs[&o]
|
RE: problem tuning
but did they say it could be the problem?
|
RE: problem tuning
i didn't ask but i am pretty sure its the clutch springs now
|
RE: problem tuning
this is kind of a stupid question but is there anyway of telling whether the springs are too soft? (they don't seem too soft if i push the clutch shoes by hand)
|
RE: problem tuning
they shouldnt be too firm or to soft
|
RE: problem tuning
but the clutch springs are only 3 quid so its not a big loss[link=http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/index.php?item=1035]click me[/link]

|
RE: problem tuning
i used a xtm clutch spring that was barely a tad bit shorter for my Firestorm g3.0=.18 and it works perfect. just take it to lhs and try to match it up with whatever ones they have in stock
