HELP!!!!

Apologies if this has already been covered previously - i did search but found nothing!

Anyway - i'm having massive dramas with my HPI Rush Evo. Basically when i brake the engine stalls. After looking into this I found out it was due to the carb fully closing once the brake was applied.

So...

I've taken out the carb and cleaned everything up as i thought it may have been a bit of dirt or something causing this.

After putting everything back it's still doing the same. When i turn on the tranny/receiver on the carb is at about 1mil open (as it should), if i pull the thottle the carb opens (as it should) - Once i apply the brakes the carb fully closes and engine stalls!

I've tried loosening everything, tightening everything, lubing everything and doing it all again and nothing seems to work. I did notice that the spiked washer that sits alongside the does not screw onto the carb (should it?). And before anyone does say the washer is the right way around.

Has anyone had this problem? Any easy (idiot proof) way of fixing?

Cheers

RE: HELP!!!!

I was thinking it was the throttle arm but now you've mentioned that i think it is the idle needle!

Ill get one replaced and keep my fingers crossed

Cheers

RE: HELP!!!!

I've now chnaged the idle needle and it stops the carb fully closing when the brake is applied.

I now have another problem. When i apply throttle and go back to idle there are no problems. However. when i apply brakes as the throttle arms is returning to idle it pulls open the carb so at idle following brake the carb is half open :-( (hope that makes sense!!)

How loose/tight should the throttle arm and end screw be? Should the throttle arm screw onto the carb or should it be loose? Should the throttle arm washer screw onto the carb or should this be loose?

Cheers

RE: HELP!!!!

This sounds like a similar problem I had with my RS4 3 Evo that has the T-15 engine, which if I'm not mistaken is the same engine as the Rush?
What was happening with mine was the nut that holds on the rotary peice (the peice that connects to the servo arm) was loose. Even if I tightend the nut it would just come loose again after a couple times of applying the break. All I did was apply some thread lock on the screw that the nut goes on and this seemed to fix the problem.

This may not be your problem but its worth looking at.

RE: HELP!!!!

i have got that problem too, sort of.
I have set idle so 1mm gap is there, then when i put the break on it pulls back the throttle arm too and closes the carb hole:( then it stalls
