stalling

so anytime I run my nitro sport, I get it warmed up and ready to really start flying, and then every time I hit the throttle to wot, it stalls on me in a cloud of smoke ( I figure now that it is running to lean?), then I cant get restarted for like 5 or 10 minutes, what is going on? also last time I ran and it did that, I picked it up and a bunch of yellow liquid poured out of the stinger on my pipe.

it is stock exahaust and engine, except for a high flo air filter.

any ideas?

you're running WAY TOO rich! lean it out man! if you're breaking it in, the fluid in the exhaust is fine. after you're fully tuned, you shouldn't have to pour out any liquid!

Lean your HSN a half turn and try again! then re-adjust in 1-hour increments from then on. Make sure you've got smoke, not too much, not too little. Making sure that you've got a steady stream of blue smoke coming out when you're running 1/2 throttle and during WOT.

Make sure you use a new glow plug that corresponds to your fuel. 20% go for medium hot (O.S. #8 plug, or equivalent). Running too rich fouls your plug.

devsynski - he's running rich. He needs to lean it, not richen it!

YES it is all traxxas fault that he is running so lean fluid is pouring out of the exaust and the truck stalls...

If you're not going to post anything helpful, you may as well not post anything at all.

RE: stalling

First, tune it by sight and power. Just tune it so that its neither lean, nor rich. Then slowly lean it until you've still got a stream of smoke when you drive and it doesn't stall when idling or while during WOT runs. Then just use the water on the cooling head trick to see if you're running to hot. If you're running to hot, richen by 1-hour. Then just keep checking the temp that way until you buy a temp gun.

Hope that helps
