Rustler Problems, can someone help me b4 my engine blows?!?!

My Rustler has been bogging and then stalling which shut off. Then i richened it a lot and richend the LSP. The whole time it has been over heating and is driving me insane. I dont know what to do. What should i do to stop it from overheating? and what about bogging and stalling?

this may be a dumb question but how do you know its over heating?

have you tried setting needles back to factory?

my temp gage says 320 ranging up and down... sometimes my engine smokes. What are the factory settings?

Sounds like an air leak.

-Replace fuel lines. (Fuel line is cheap and not worth the time to check if it is bad)
-Check to make sure that the seals on the Carb have no visual tears and be sure that carb is secured tightly to the block.
-Replace Exaust gasket, once again cheap. While the exaust is off, check the muffler and header for any cracks as well as the J tube or what ever rubber peice you have.

Anysort of leak like that will cause the motor to continue to lean out, even with constant richening. One of my buddies with and 8th scale had a small hair line crack in his exaust and that was causing his temps to go all over that place. Each lap he would richen a 1/4 temp and he couldnt keep the temps down. Thats when he discovered the crack.

Clean the truck well. Tear it down and go over the motor with a fine tooth comb (expression). More than likely it is something simple as listed above.

What were you using to check your temps, and how many gallons do you have in your motor? If the motor is kept within the 210-230 range, like I keep mine, there is no reason the motor shouldnt last well over 3 gallons. A TRX motor might be in question sometimes, but other aftermarket motors should last that long.
