RE: nitro rustler
my opinion is the rusty is a good basher what do you plan on doing
|
RE: nitro rustler
The rusty is a very good starter truck. Easy to fix is broken and with the 2.5 its very fast. Not too many trucks as fast as the rusty out of the box.

RE: nitro rustler
i plan on just having fun with it around parks and in my yard and small fied accross from me. also does the pakage deal come with every thing i need as i have nothing but a charger from my electrics
|
RE: nitro rustler
Ya rustlers are pretty darn quick right outta the box. My friend had one and it smoked my evader everytime. Held up pretty well too. We only bashed tho.

RE: nitro rustler
You will need fuel and batteries for receiver remote and stasrter. I would also highly recommend a failsafe as your first mod. For the starter get at least a 1500 mah battery and some rechargables for the rest.
|
RE: nitro rustler
what kind of batts for the reciver?
|
RE: nitro rustler
The receiver will take 8 AA and the receiver takes 4 AA. Then the 1500mah for the starter. You will need a charger for the 1500 batt to.

RE: nitro rustler
ok, thanks. i realy appreciate the help. i forgot to ask it does come with the starter right?
|
RE: nitro rustler

RE: nitro rustler
I got one as a first truck, and I wouldn't recommend it. Start off a little smaller, maybe even on electrics. Go for a nitro sport for a 1st nitro. And yes, get a failsafe. My truck took off at full throttle once while I was still breaking it in, some servo wires got melted by something under there.
Also, I have a couple questions, on the OS website, it said that the LC3 glow plug was for traxxas trx 2.5 motors, and then I went to order it on tower hobbies and it said it was just for the t-maxx and shouldn't be used with a trx 2.5R. So a trx 2.5 and a trx 2.5r are different motors, correct? And is the LC3 a good choice for a nitro rusty? |
RE: nitro rustler
The 2.5 and 2.5r are not different except for the cooling head. Thats it! I have used lc3 plugs with no problems.

RE: nitro rustler
snaggles i have already had two electrics and hve had one off them for 8 years so i think i am ready to step up to nitro:D
oh also the one i have had for 8 years is an electro rustler :) |
RE: nitro rustler
Ohhh okay, well I'm sure you're plenty well prepared for a nitro rusty then. My bad =D
|
RE: nitro rustler
well if youvehad electric you prolly have a 7.2v stick pack. I know when i bought mine for 279, and a starter kit for 25. your wasting 50 bucks on that one you linked.
|
RE: nitro rustler
for a first nitro truck.. i agree its a good starter.. same with the team associated RTR nitro truck.. both kits come with everything but fuel and batteries.. with the rustler u need to buy a fuel bottle though..
|
RE: nitro rustler
the one i have is old and dosent hold a charge very well any more and i will look at the team associated truck
|
RE: nitro rustler
now a days all the RTR trucks are great.. just depends on how much u want to spend and what ur going to be doing with it... but id get a rustler or an associated for a first nitro... just because ive owned both never had a proble, with them well besides my ez start on the rustler went out twice... but other than that it was a good truck
