?Revving? Rusty

there is a problem with my Nitro rustler when I push the Accel it just revs up it does'nt even move but when i take the 2 rear wheels off the ground and push the gas the wheels spin... but not fast. I took the Engine out (its a TRX2.5R) and checked the clutch and everything was fine. could someone help me please
thanks

did you check the slipper clutch? also did you check to see if the axl hubs to the wheel is stripped? this happend to me and i thaught that i ruined my dif, it turns out its just the axles slipping.

worst comes to worst, check the diff, on some there is a limited slip that can get loose, and if that tight and you checked eveything the diff is probly screwed.

it sounds like the axle hubs are stripped, and hopefully thats what it is

I had the same symptoms. It could be your differential output yokes. The stock plastic white yokes strip easily depending on if you have the older ones with two grub screws, or the newer setup with the one screw that goes all the way thru. Either way this may be your problem, check it and if it is I would upgrade to the steel output yokes.

yes those are fine. are the yokes those white things connect to the driveshaft?

So what part do i need to get?

RE: ?Revving? Rusty

first you need to pin point the problem. look at the wheel hubs first.

my rustler did the same thing and it was the idler gear inside the transmission. half of the teeth were stripped off of the gear.

thats what i think the problem is but how do i check if it is the gears or the yokes???

RE: ?Revving? Rusty

look at them, you will eaisily notice a stripped peice.

are you thinking of the spur or pinion gear?

Xtfreak 09-16-2007 07:18 AM

RE: ?Revving? Rusty

Cause I think its the planetery gears

Xtfreak 09-16-2007 10:24 AM

RE: ?Revving? Rusty

so what do I do then?

RE: ?Revving? Rusty

look in the tranny![:@]

i think your out drives are plastic too, check them, then check the wheel hubs.

RE: ?Revving? Rusty

when you hit the gas, does the spur spin or not? if so then its your drivetrain if not then its your clutch shoes or something in that area...maybe the flywheel pins broke off for some odd reason

it should slip for 2seconds at full throttle. altough you can get away with one second. dont over tighten because you can blow out the spur or tranny.
