Pull start substitutes?
 

I recently got a new Team Losi GTX. I am in the process of breaking it in but have already had problems with the pullstart. The first time I broke the string and the handle came off. The second time the end hook on the coiled spring broke and the spring unwound.

Is there an alternative to the pullstart? There is a sticker on the motor that says ".12 PD" I would like to use a rotostart if that's possible or something similar. What would I need in order to do something like this?

Look up Tiger Drive and see if they make one for your engine.

Bump start is the way to go . I hope you take it easy on that truck as parts will be hard to find .

that motor is a dynamite .12 pd. I think someone makes a rotostart for it. check HorizonHobby.com

HELL YEA bump start is the way to go!!!!! u can find starter boxes for as low as 50 bucks

I picked up the truck at a hobby shop that was going out of business so i got it for pretty cheap. I'll probably use it mostly at the track and hope not to break anything.

I'll check out the horrizon hobby webpage to see if they do infact make a rotostart for it. I already have the rotostart for my savage so if I could just get the part that mounts on the engine then that would be perfect.

How does a bump start work???

If it does fit, does it spin it the correct way? Or do all engines turn the same way?

All engines turn the same way . Not sure if the tiger drive will work with your roto starter . You are better off using a starter box anyway . To use a starter box you line up the chassis on the box and set the pegs to where the starter wheel will make contact with the flywheel on your engine . After setting it up , you place the truck on the box and press down which will engage the starter wheel and will spin the engine and start it using a glow starter attached .
