RE: Fast Engine???????

I have an RC10GT with an OS .18 CVR. It should drop right in a GT2. My GT does about 50 mph. You might also want to check out LRP they make some decent motors as well,

ok cool whats the diffrence between that engine and the .18TZ?

RE: Fast Engine???????

The TZ is alot more powerful. If you check out the OS web site they got to pull 2.28 horse power. If you check out my other thread DEATH OF A JATO there is a guy who posted that a TZ managed 92mph. His screen name is MiamizFinest and he knows alot about the TZ. it is one sick motor. Might stick one in my Jato not sure yet.

RE: Fast Engine???????

whats really high for rpm and bhp?

xxxnt236 01-13-2009 09:24 AM

RE: Fast Engine???????

um well if you look at a good .12 there is the 40 thousands and bhp aint as big but 1.6 1.5 in there is pretty good.

RE: Fast Engine???????

if i put the O.S. 18tz in my gt2, how fast do u think it will be?

rclynx 01-13-2009 03:08 PM

RE: Fast Engine???????

Probably 40 to 50 mph area if you don't tear the diff out of it getting there ;)

RE: Fast Engine???????

if you want speed buy like the ofna jlr .12. that will give you tons of speed. any of the high brand .12 will get you going faster than that .18tz

quietnas1 01-13-2009 10:24 PM

RE: Fast Engine???????

I think the .18TZ is overkill for the GT2. The .18 CV-R in my GT is a beast. It will also strip the spur gear if your constantly launching hard from a dead stop. .18TZ great motor but overkill for the GT2.

RE: Fast Engine???????

i dont want to blow anything out of my GT2. if theirs that many problems, then whats the perfect/fastest engine i could get i want it faster than my jato!

RE: Fast Engine???????

You want a race bred 1/10 gas truck, to go faster than your onroad jato with 2-speed?....

quietnas1 01-14-2009 02:32 AM

RE: Fast Engine???????

No matter what motor you drop in your GT2 it all comes down to gearing. The GT2 will never be faster than the Jato. I also have a Jato 3.3 and that thing is strictly for speed. If you drop the .18TZ in your Jato and gear it down a little you may be able to achieve 80mph but it will be unstable.

RE: Fast Engine???????

so is the O.S. .18tz. faster than the TRX 3.3?

quietnas1 01-14-2009 03:15 PM

RE: Fast Engine???????

The .18TZ is alot more powerful. The TRX 3.3 puts out .92 bhp. The OS .18 CVR puts out 1.35 bhp and the OS .18 TZ puts out 1.8 bhp. In the Jato the TZ is a screamer. Im actually getting one from my lhs for about 225.00 which is alot cheaper than the other engine I was thinking of getting for my Jato.
