please i have a nitro stampede that i got as a roller i have snice build the whole truck i have a used traxxas .15 engine on i put on a brand new spar gear last night and i put a smaller white one on today but it does the same thing every time i start the engine and try to rev it a lil bit the truck acts as it going go but then it kees happen the gear grinds away and the truck once again still have gone any where what could be wrong with it am starting to give up on it

your mesh is probably way off. sounds like you have too much clearance. if the mesh is right check out your clutch bell bearing.

you have to get the gap between the gears rite to get the gears to mesh properly. the best way to do this is to put a piece of paper between the clutch bell and spur gear when you push the gears together. dont just push the gears hard together.

i know how the set the mesh i done it on all my other nitro r/c s and they all work fine its just the stampede even i put it on the floor and try to push it it wont move i check the brake and that not stuck could it be a bad tranny

Check if your clutch bell bearings aren't damaged. loose bearing will allow the bell to move apart from spur.
check the diffs one by one. also check if you do not have a rock stock somewhere one the line locking a cvd or dogbone.

this truck dont have diffs it is a two wheel drive and i anit drove it yet i just built it so i know it dont have no rocks in it

Make sure you're getting the right spur for the truck. The white one you used is either for a different car (wrong), or an aftermarket (like Robinson). Make sure it is the correct pitch. The Traxxas original spur for your truck is molded in black composite. White spurs usually go on the electric trucks.

you must have a differential in the gear box. unless you changed it for a positrack. a car without diff is really squirly and uncontrollable on track unless you like to do donut all the time. and no stock car are coming that way at my knowledge
if your car doesn't move even without the spur, you need to take that gear box apart and see if you have something broken in it.

probably wouldnt hurt to open up the diff and check it out. unless you removed the diff itself, it has one. Check the bearings and make sure they spin with ease. Theres really nothing else..you said you know how to check the mesh. maybe check the meshing of all the other gears. Perhaps the gear box is cracked or out of line.

have you got the manual for the truck? something ie realy wrong with that diff, pull the diff apart and put it back together as per the manual. there is exploded views on the traxxas website, just incase you dont have the manual... http://www.traxxas.com/products/elec...pede_views.htm

i took the whole transmission apart every part inside it look good, I have the manual for the truck i have the nitro stampede i think am going just buy all the parts for the dif and the diff sides as well and build me a brand new one and try it in the truck or should i just rebuild the one thats in it idk i just want to get it runing

just take it apart and see what's wrong. For all we know, it might just be a loose screw.

i have check every thing i have gave up if any one wants to buy the truck am selling it for 145.00
