I recently had the LHS order the body for me and I started on it the other night.I'm making notes on a few things to do differently with the next one but it's gone well for the first body in about 8 years.I have had some airbrush problems,it's a cheap Testors so I expect some snags but it's just givin me too much of a hard time and it's time to retire it.I've also had some masking difficulties,I pulled the windshield mask off the backing and immediatly dropped it adhesive side down on the sand and cat fur covered rug ... that I need to vacuum very badly.
I'll update in a bit with some progress pics.

get yourself some liquid mask dude. paint it onto the windshield, dry with hairdryer, do it again, make sure its dry, cut to shape, spray and peel and there you go, u made yourself a windshield decal. can do other decals with it if u want to play around with a felt tip pen and an exacto. need patience though.

I saw that up at the hobby shop and thought,"it's just a simple single color paint job,I don't need that".I could have used it on the bumper and front lip I did in black though,so I'll pick some up before I do the next one.I managed to save that windshield mask I dropped on the carpet by simply washing off the adhesive side in the sink with some Dawn dish soap and letting it dry.The new mask sheets are luckily no longer paper so they can hold up in water, haha. I picked up a new airbrush yesterday so I'll work on getting the backing coats of white on there this afternoon as well as getting some pics up.

Here is a few pics of it currently. I had slightly over-thinned the paint to start so there were a couple spots that didn't come out as consistent as most of it.

Very nice. I did an evo x just recently as well. Still a work in progress. First attempt at the carbon fibre deal. Did not quite turn out as planned. Try it with an airbrush next time around. Now just have to get the real thing.

I had the local hobby shop order the intercooler/muffler set...it's an HPI part -#85613 BODY TUNER KIT TYPE A .
I think I seriously spent about 6 hours mounting just the intercooler...now I have to move it so it sits right with the Evo body, haha.
Heres a link to the intercooler set ...[link]http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/85613/[/link]
Throw up some pics of the evo you have!!!

I actually have made more progress, just seem to run out of time for pics at night.
I did get my wing from the hobby shop Monday night and was pleasantly surprised at how large it was for a 1/10 scale part.I mounted that and drilled all the body holes as well so mostly all I have left is cutting the windows and attaching the mirrors.
I'll try to get some pics this evening so you can see where it's at so far.I have some old brake rotors from 8 years ago but I never made calipers for them,I'll try to get pics with those too but I have no good wheels at the moment so be kind, haha.

Ok,this afternoon I'll have time to shoot pics and after I get home from work and get in the shower it'll be the first thing I do.
I couldn't really see the stock spoiler looking so great and I over-thinned the paint and had a run in the pearl on it so I didn't use it.HPI sent a second wing with the replacement light buckets but I still just didn't like the look of it so it sits clear and unused.
Took me a good month of lookin at spoilers to decide on this one,and I used the mounts that came with the stock wing since they had more of a realistic look and just better overall fit on the GT wing.
I also ordered some 29mm low profile tires and wheels yesterday...started with a pair in 3mm offset just to see where that gets me width wise,I'll order the second set accordingly.

Thanks!
The wheel wells do look good don't they? I'm pretty happy with those,it was the first time I used a circle cutter.I also did some fine trimming with a fresh X-acto blade and sanded then with some 220grit sandpaper wrapped around, and taped to, a spray can.
Here is a link to an HPI tips page where they mention the circle cutter...

I've still got a few stickers to put on it and I need to cut out the windows to make them look like they are rolled down about halfway for ventilation since this will go on a nitro car.
I should have 2 of my wheels and tires here Friday so at least I can get a pic of one side lookin good, haha.

I'm considering adding some black fender flares but I'm not too sure how my 3mm offset wheels are gonna sit, they may JUST make it under the rear.
Any thoughts on how that may look?
