Default Sweet 2005 Mustang body

I just ordered this Mustang body for my new, still being assembled FT-TC3. My problem is that this is a 200MM body.

What is the best way to get a wider wheelbase? I know HPI makes wheels and spacers, but the wheels are kind of... un-bling. I want something a little cooler looking.

Will the Tamiya wide 31mm wheels fit a standard touring car hex? This would be my first choice because the Tamiya tires seem cheaper than most of the 26mm tires. HPI makes some pretty sweet 31mm radials too.

I think the TC3 rally kit converts the TC3 to 200mm, but Ouch! the kit is $60.

Ideas anyone?

well it wont look that bad. the wheels will only be in a quarter of an inch. u could get some 30mm wheels, and then spray paint them crome, or watever. thats all the companys do, paint there wheels. thats why the wheels alwayhs get chipped

If you can get away with a 200mm and don't have to use a Boss, PTI has a Mustang Cobra for $26.95 (#920002).

Yep, that is the same mustang.

I have found some wider wheels, like 30mm, but I can't figure out if the offset will work with a TC3. It seems the wider wheels have a 3mm offset. Does this put the 3mm inside or outside?

Off-sets create room in rl cars so I would imagine they do the same here. Get a set and put them on. it should clear in the centered position. If your main goal is bling-bling and they don't quiet let you turn all the way then just adjust your D/R until it no longer rubs when turned all the way to the left and right.

I ended up ordering HPI 31mm tires and wheels. If everything (fit and look) works out, I will post a pic or two.

All out performance isn't that important to me. I just got a novak SS5800 for it, but this car is only expected to be a basher.
