What colour do I use to back yellow? white, silver or black?

I usually use white, but silver will work fine too. Try both for practice on a soda bottle and check out the difference.

Depends on what you want the yellow to look like when finished, if it is non metallic yellow use white and it will give you a bright vibrant color, metallic yellow use silver and it will bring out the metallic flake in the yellow more, and if you want your yellow be look a bit darker back in it black but not too heavy, just a good even coat.
