Default Backing with Un-Lexan Spray Paint

So I got a Nitro MT-1 body and blue mettalic paint for Christmas. I'm on too my third coat and it looking about how I want it. I will probably do one more coat of blue. I was going to back it with white but I don't have any made for lexan, however I do have some Un-Lexan spray paint. I was wondering if that spray paint would work. It should be able to grip onto the blue paint, shouldn't it?

It should stick, and as long as you don't run your car with the body on, the backing coat won't crack or chip. I did the same thing with enamel paint (which people highly encourage me not to use) and it never cracked or chipped. I used sandpaper to lightly sand the third coat to make sure the backing coat bites on to the third coat of paint.

So if I drive it the backing coat will most likely flake off?

It depends if you crash or not, or how much the car vibrates. There are a lot of factors.

No, not yet. I was just working out what ways I could do it. Looks like Lexan paint is the way to do it.

Ok thats good, yeah only use lexan paint on the body even for backing. problem with using it for backing is its still going to flake off because of its non ability to flex and then as it flakes your main color that you backed with have spots in it that dont look as bright because the white backing flaked away.

Just spend the couple bucks and get yourself some lexan paint such as Pactra and save yourself any headaches
