Default masking a racing stripe tips?

Is there anyway besides trial and error to make sure the mask on a racing stripe is perfectly centered and straight down the body?

Any tips for doing it?

measurment. Thats wut i do just measure it at certain points along the length of the body and place the masking tape between those points. it will pretty much guarentee a straingth line unless yur tape is wavy. Just look down the body line to check. I hope i explained the process if not i can detail it some more.

I read on another forum that a laser level is a good way to mark the center of a body.
