the adjusted window lines on the window masks.
<img src=http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/4386/19qm1.jpg>
Jetta/vento shaped headlights with corrado housing. Also a bit thinner to account for the eyelid..
The decals from the audi TT
<img src=http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/4752/1000142fs9.jpg>
Tamiya Gunmetal spray paint.
Two thick coats for stronger and more crack resistant lexan shell.
It wasn’t easy to get it the metallic to be even.
Some decals on..
<img src=http://img468.imageshack.us/img468/6544/1000143ju1.jpg>

<img src=http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/2282/1000159ae9.jpg>
first peek.
No flash.
I have used servo tape to adhere the kit.
<img src=http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/6961/1000160zv8.jpg>
The wheels I have picked are the Tamiya 2 piece 5 spoke wheels.
The ones on now are 26mm in width.
I do want the 31mm for it isn’t as fat as I thought it would be.
I will order them for sure.
<img src=http://img346.imageshack.us/img346/4055/1000161fp0.jpg>
Some sides fit perfect..
But not all
<img src=http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/3620/1000163aza8.jpg>
I know it seems fat. But it needs a fatter ass.
<img src=http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/1851/1000166lo7.jpg>

<img src=http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/239/1000176cy7.jpg>
A lower Lip after the vr6 lip.
<img src=http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/824/1000177fj5.jpg>
The four door window indentations on the lexan seem too prominent. Its annoying the f*** out of me

Now for the body:
Here it is with body posts cut. [sigh] haha
Yokomo muffler set.
I didn’t kno how I was gna make use of the mounts it came with
It seemed hard to mount on the rear.
So I went for the side exit exhaust
Glad I went with the option.
Now about the decals
If I had the option I woulda left the body simple and not overdone with decals.
But it was all for a reason.
Disguise the imperfections on my paint
Somehow make the widebody kit joints discreet
Still have some bad kit fitment exposed tho
<img src=http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/1295/1000210af7.jpg>
<img src=http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/7453/1000211el1.jpg>
WARNING!
<img src=http://img346.imageshack.us/img346/8616/1000212uv0.jpg>
Why the black stripe?
Had to cover pre drilled holes and expose only the new ones
<img src=http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/6228/1000213rm0.jpg>
Why 23?
Haha just that I only sourced the extra decals from the 350z race kit body my cousin had..
<img src=http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/9642/1000214rb1.jpg>
Yes it is now an Audi. Don’t complain. Didn’t come with a vw windshield decal. And I like it as an audi. VW in grown up clothes.
<img src=http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/9838/1000215zk5.jpg>
<img src=http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/2954/1000216sh7.jpg>
<img src=http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8336/1000217ef3.jpg>
Still not fat enough.
Wider versions soon to come.

Next step..
From ugly stock mirrors to these..
<img src=http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/9974/48289277mvd2.jpg>
What do you guys think about drawing the body lines?

where I have sourced these wide body fenders and skirts..
two birds with one stone. Widening the body for looks and fixing the wheelbase problem for superior functionality

what I have and assemled so far:
Tamiya TL01 lightweight chassis
TL01 front foam bumper alloy mounts
Tamiya TL01 adjustable steering arms
Tamiya TL01 carbon propeller driveshaft
Tamiya TL01 hollow carbon gearshafts
Kyosho modified double wind 12 turn motor with 19T pinion
Tamiya TL01 adjustable steering arms

Kawada 8 mesh wheel set in associated v pattern tires
TopCad Gunmetal alloy oil filled damper set
Yokomo muffler set
The foam bumper
LRP Quantum 2 Reverse Pro [over 11 turns] reverse will be turned off.
the adjusted window lines on the window masks.
Jetta/vento shaped headlights with corrado housing. Also a bit thinner to account for the eyelid..
The decals from the audi TT
Tamiya Gunmetal spray paint.
Two thick coats for stronger and more crack resistant lexan shell.
It wasn’t easy to get it the metallic to be even.
Some decals on..
the TT widebody kit. Also two coats.
notice the big cuts to accommodate the longer wheelbase.
And plus, you don’t wna see the older fenders peeking when the wide ones are mounted
Test fitting. yay!
Test fitting.
damn door handles.
and the imperfections on the paintjob
noob. haha
The jetta front.
Corrado lookin headlights.
Audi TT mesh grille inserts on custom front and lower grille
[except lower center]
not sure if I should go for smoke clear red or red clear red tails
first peek.
No flash.
I have used servo tape to adhere the kit.
The wheels I have picked are the Tamiya 2 piece 5 spoke wheels.
The ones on now are 26mm in width.
I do want the 31mm for it isn’t as fat as I thought it would be.
I will order them for sure.
Some sides fit perfect..
But not all
I know it seems fat. But it needs a fatter ass.
In dire need to cut those body posts.. hahah
Nice and clean.
For now.
Haha
Audi TT gas door.
More imperfections on the metallic paint.
arggh
A lower Lip after the vr6 lip.
The four door window indentations on the lexan seem too prominent. Its annoying the f*** out of me
STAGE 2
Just a bit more about my TL01..
current chassis specs:
Tamiya lightweight chassis
Tamiya carbon propeller shaft
Tamiya hollow carbon gear shafts
Tamiya speed tuned gears [better gear ratios]
Tamiya TA03 ball differentials [front and rear]
Tamiya adjustable front and rear camber turnbuckles
Tamiya adjustable steering turnbuckles
Tamiya front and rear universal CV drive shafts
Tamiya full set of new body mounts. [to adapt with the vr6’s tall rear]
Tamiya 6mm aluminum hex wheel hubs
Tamiya full set of race ball bearings
GPM silver alloy suspension arms [front and rear]
GPM silver alloy knuckle arms [front and rear]
GPM blue alloy C hub [for steering]
TopCad oil filled aluminum damper set. Red springs [hard]
Road Tech front urethane bumper with alloy bottom mounts and carbon upper bracket
Electronics.
LRP quantum pro reverse [it’s off] [over 11 turn motor limit]
Kyosho modified 12 turn double wind 540 type motor
Airtronics MX-A 2 channel AM pistol radio
Airtronics micro receiver
Airtronics servo
Now for the body:
Here it is with body posts cut. [sigh] haha
Yokomo muffler set.
I didn’t kno how I was gna make use of the mounts it came with
It seemed hard to mount on the rear.
So I went for the side exit exhaust
Glad I went with the option.
Now about the decals
If I had the option I woulda left the body simple and not overdone with decals.
But it was all for a reason.
Disguise the imperfections on my paint
Somehow make the widebody kit joints discreet
Still have some bad kit fitment exposed tho
WARNING!
Why the black stripe?
Had to cover pre drilled holes and expose only the new ones
Why 23?
Haha just that I only sourced the extra decals from the 350z race kit body my cousin had..
Yes it is now an Audi. Don’t complain. Didn’t come with a vw windshield decal. And I like it as an audi. VW in grown up clothes.
Still not fat enough.
Wider versions soon to come.
Next step..
From ugly stock mirrors to these..
What do you guys think about drawing the body lines?
To define the 2 door conversion..
The b pillar looks retarded right now.
Coming soon:
Pics with the wider wheels
Pics of the projektzwo mirror building/sculpting
And if I can get a better camera..
High res pics and maybe even rolling shots.
… dun dun dun..
hey guys.
Im new here..
this project of mine has been goin on in mind repeatedly and it barely started taking its form.. hope you all like it.
comment. criticize if you should. but dont hate.
here's what i had in mind.
original picture.
and this one edited by me of course.
STAGE 1
First we start with..
the essential ingredient..
the planning starts..
my other car. And the 200mm TT donor car..
where I have sourced these wide body fenders and skirts..
two birds with one stone. Widening the body for looks and fixing the wheelbase problem for superior functionality
marking and test fitting..
then on to the jetta front conversion. Along with the eyelids
what I have and assemled so far:
Tamiya TL01 lightweight chassis
TL01 front foam bumper alloy mounts
Tamiya TL01 adjustable steering arms
Tamiya TL01 carbon propeller driveshaft
Tamiya TL01 hollow carbon gearshafts
Kyosho modified double wind 12 turn motor with 19T pinion
Tamiya TL01 adjustable steering arms
Kawada VX wheel set in Tamiya slicks

J/K..
Btw.. :Gasp:, That's a Tamiya car i can't gripe about! Looking nice. And i love how you took a 1:1 scale car, and tried to make a 1:10th version of it. Ill be doing the same when i find a lancer evo body in 190mm.
