Default Painting body parts CHROME

I was wondering if it was possible to paint (w/ airbrush) the body parts of an RC car with chrome paints (Spaz Stix and Alclad II)????

You would have to remove the parts to paint them but what i'm wondering is would you get the same chrome-mirror finish on the black plastic car parts as you do with the lexan bodies?

How about durability? What about topping it off with something?

Has anyone heard of this being done?

I have done my rims, but they look like silver, not chrome mirror-finish. And it is best to remove parts first before painting.

The Alclad works good for exterior painting, but don't use the Alclad for Lexan. I think Alclad sells a clear that should work to protect it. I haven't tried it, but I had a customer that use it restoring old Cox nitro cars.

There are several places that plate plastic model car parts.

Hey I just saw a chrome fusion on ebay

I'm thinking about bidding on it but if I loose the auction (I'm on a low budget) is there any hobby shops out there that do this service?

I'd like to get the parts painted chrome or chrome plated. It looks real sweet
