Default Wheel offsets!

Hey guys, I'm new to this stuff, and I've read an FAQ, but here's another question. I am wanting to put a 200mm body on the TT-01 chassis. How much of a wheel offset would I need? Thanks!

Where can I find wheels with 10mm offset? I've found 2 and 6mm offsets so far. Thanks!

for some 200mm shells you need to use 12mm on a tt01, try http://www.cws-mart.com/index.php?main_page=index or http://www.genkidoridori.com/index.php?main_page=index

And what about tires? I found a set of Slidemaster D9 wheels with a 10mm offset. Do I find tires with the same diameter and width and all that? Thanks!

Your tires will be standard doesn't matter what offset if they're for 1/10 onroad they'll work. I'm not sure a 10mm offset on those slidemasters will be best on the tt01 I know that the 8.5mm slidemasters work perfecton on a tt01 with a greddy z hpi 200 mm body. I'm not sure 1.5 mm will matter much anyway. You will probably be OK.

Alright, call me an idiot, but what exactly is a wheel offset? I figured it meant the wheel was wider than usual, or is that the case? All I know is if you have a 200mm body, you need wheels with more offset. I figured it was just wider wheels so the body isn't hanging over the entire chassis and covering up the wheels. Thanks!

200mm bodies were meant for Nitros. But some people like to put them on electrics for the wide body look. Offset is the amount of lip on the wheel so it can be flush with the body. Go ahead and correct me if I'm wrong.

Do I need any special crazy tools to trim a body or put together a chassis?

the width of the wheel stays the same for offset, but the hex inside sticks out more, making the wheels stick out more, not increasing the width. Hope this helps.

Yeah, makes alot of sense. My friend said pretty much the same thing. Thanks for the help! I'll have the coolest car ever! W00t!
Do people sometimes carve out a little more than just the excess plastic around the body? Like, maybe they didn't want their car to be so low to the ground? I bought the 200mm honda prelude body, and I noticed it sits pretty low, like all other bodies I guess, but what if I cut a little more off the sides to make it look more like a stock real prelude. (Plan is to model it like mine). If not it's no big deal, it will look just as cool! haha! Later guys!
