Badger or Paasche?
Well I've narrowed it down to two air brushes. Either the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX8161&P=7]Badger 175-9[/link] or the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDD38&P=ML]Paasche VL[/link]. Anyone have any input on either? I have heard great things about both and cannot make up my mind.

If your not 100% set on those 2 id say go with the Iwata, I like gravity fed much more for R/C, so ifd say go with the Iwata HP-C Revolution, but if your thinking of Iwata and wanna stick with siphon fed the Iwata BCR is antoher great brush.

I agree.
I have a couple of the badger brushes and I hardly ever get them out. The Iwata HP-CR Revolution is my main work horse now.
Heres a link.

I'm not looking to spend that that much on an Iwata. I mean, if I would use it a lot, sure, but I won't use it very often. Only the occasional body here and there. I've been averaging 3ish per year. So Badgers are no good then, eh? I heard that they were from a few hot rod shops. Hmm....

RE: Badger or Paasche?
No matter what you get I would recommend you look for two things in your air brush.
The first and most important in my book is a Dual action brush. This allows you to control the air flow as well as the paint flow.
The second thing I find fairly important is gravity feed. Again both brushes you asked about are siphon feed. This general means the brush must be used at a higher pressure which will limit the effects you will be able to achieve not to mention the need to thin your paint, more than would be needed with a gravity feed brush. The thinner you get your paints mixed with a higher air pressure can lead to spatter and runs very easily.
Tower or Horizon are both pretty high priced on all the brushes they have listed. I would recommend you check out www.coastairbrush.com . They have most any brush you could want to purchase and they are at a much better price.
For example here is a quick price comparison of the Iwata HP-CR
Coast's link
http://www.coastairbrush.com/proddetail.asp?prod=R4500
price $65.
Same brush at Horizon
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=IWAR4500
price $84
Coast link Paasche
http://www.coastairbrush.com/proddetail.asp?prod=VLSET
$59
Tower link Paasche
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXDD38&P=ML
$70
Pretty good price savings on either brush. Sorry they didnt list the 175-9 Badger brush. I am sure they can get it if that is what you want.
