Default Painting tail lights clear red, orange, and white... what paint to use?

Hi, I'm putting together my first RC car, and I really would like it to look nice (like a mini replica of the 1:1 car I drive!). Those lame stickers the Tamiya TT-01 kit provides for the tail lights just wont cut it. I was thinking of using a red, orange, and white/clear paint for the acrylic body to simulate the tails... any suggestions? I already have Testors Model Master clear enamel that I used for an earlier project... will that work on polycarbonate/lexan? As for the orange, Tamiya has a variety of acrylics, but it doesn't say it's safe for polycarbonate, either. Finally, I can find a variety of "clear" paints, the the reverse indicators/reflectors on a real car are more white than clear. Are there any opaque/clear/white paints out there that look good? thanks!

I did this for a guy a while back.
I used Createx Paints. They are latex based paints that can be found at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.
The Createx Paint doesnt say it is specifically for polycarbonate but it is used by several RC painters as a replacement to the higher priced FasKolor line of paints.

To achieve the realistic look I used:

Opaque white (this was heavily reduced with Alcohol 90% isopropoly)
Transparent Red (I added one drop of Silver pearl to 6 drops of red)
Transparent Sunrise Yellow (I added one drop of Transparent Bright Yellow to 6 drops of the Sunrise yellow)

That should get you close to the desired Red, Amber and hazzy white colors you are looking for. If you decide you dont want to see through these colors simply back them with an opaque color. I lightly and I do mean lightly, dusted them with a silver pearl to take away some of the transparentcy from these colors. If you want the colors to become a little more bold back them with a heavier coat of silver or white paint.

I dont have pictures of the multi-colored tailight lens but I do have one of were I used the tranparent red and silver.
If you scroll down to the Home Depot truck it has the red tail light lenses.
