Anyone interested in Custom Bodies?
So would anyone be interested in custom
(limited run) 1:10 sedan/onroad bodies?
I am making some for my friends and I. I have
an auto design student designing them. We
were tired of using production bodies that are
copies of production cars. So we thought why not stand out
at the track with beautifully designed custom ones?
Just trying to get an idea if anyone else is interested.

i think shoehead had bodies that were more custom in mind. I was vacuforming bodies for a while but cost outweighed the fun and profit so I had to stop.
You have to take into account the fact that you can't recreate the body style of any of the cars you guys have pointed out and sell them without written permission by the company who owns the design... there is a reason why there are no toyota tacoma bodies out there... basically because toyota won't sell the rights to them for any feasible amount.
I for one, would love to see some concept stuff shoehead. The wierder the better... and not racing grade stuff either...i mean wacky stuff...kind of like the plymouth prowler..god what a bad idea that just happened to work a little.

This is more like what we were thinking.
We wanted to design some bodies that would be not
copies of production cars but be more effective
RC car bodies. This version has a scoop in front
of the cylinder head. I'm sure I don't have to tell
you why. We were thinking that it would be cool to
form some ducting and attach it to the underside of the
shell for even more efficient cooling. We are having
some trouble with the sculpting part currently but
hopefully we can get past it soon. Anyway here is one
of our more recent designs... I'll keep you posted

They would be custom in the sense that they are unique
non production non mass produced bodies. They would
be something different from what the other guys at the track
are driving. Sorry if I mis lead...

Yeah I agree! We'll do all sorts of designs, just not production
copies. Leave that to the factories to do...

shoehead..that concept looks incredible!
i've done my share of vacuuforming and i can tell you all that what he is trying to pull off just as far as sculpting, let alone pulling the plastic and getting the shape is awesome..if you do make any i'll buy one.. i'd pay like 30.00 for one.. let me know if you get to that point..
