Default Painting Candy Colors?

I have candy purple and indy silver to back it with. How should I go about this? A thick coat or thin coat of candy or does it matter?

You wiil want to spray the candy color in light coats until you have it as dark as you want it then back it in the silver.

Yep! and be very carefull with candy when you back it up with another color, candy is easy to broke. I've waste a complete paint job with candy, so go in light, very light coat, dry with heat gun between each coat, and bake it with very light silver coat.

You would be better off to let it dry naturally, otherwise when using a heat gun you can cause damage to the paint and/or the body.

I paint since 5 years, and not only on r/c cars body, and i've always use heat gun to dry my paint, and never had any problems. For sure, you must use your brain with the heat gun [&:]

This body is all made with candy Auto-Air colors, and bake in silver.

This one too:

And this tiger on an helmet that i've just finish tonight is candy colors too:

Hey dakamat,

Do you custom paint RC bodies? If so could you paint a dragon for one of my RC's?

I have a heat gun adjustable from 1-10. I will set it around 5 keep a little distance and dry. I should be good. I won't melt it.

I only paint mine, i've stop to paint for others, it's to much time and don't give me enough $$ for the time i spend on a bodies.
Now i focus on real car, motorcycle and helmet painting.

Sorry
