Default Masking question

Ok.. I have looked through most of the threads and see a lot of people are using the masking liquids.. since I have not painted a body in 16 years was wondering if painters tape works ok or would it be better to pick up the liquid mask? I have about 4 rolls of painters tape lying around after painting the inside of my house.

The liquid mask is much better. if you use that blue painters tape you take a chance on it bleeding at the edges also if you look on your blue tape it probally says only for house paints or don't use with acrylics or something along those lines, another good masking tape is 3M masking tape, of course you could use anything you wish but I have been paint cars since I was 13 now definnetly not 13 anymore .If you use liquid mask use 3-4 layers let dry all the way.

I have tried the liquid mask and it did not work as well for me i still go old school and use tape to avoid bleeding i score the edges with a cuticle thing its wooden and has a sharp edge and a beveled end just make sure that you go over the entire area that does not get paint, you wont have any bleeding. if by some chance you did'nt get everything scored down you always can use the same tool to scrape the excess off. good luck.[8D]
