I want to put leds on my slash but dont know how to wire up the leds. I want to use a 9v battery or is it just better to go off my 2 cell lipo? pls someone help

Depends on what you're trying to do. Where do you want the lights? Do you want it to look realistic or do you just want light?

I've done it both ways.

The first pic is of the slash with 5 x 1mm leds in the holes in the front bumper plus 20 leds in a casing that's meant as daytime driving lights for 1:1 cars. They all run off of one 3S 900mah lipo.

You can also make it look realistic like in the second picture of the summit with the proline scale lights. Drill holes in the back and insert leds then plug them into a battery.

There are also tons of led light kits on ebay or do a search for "ram lights" on tower. Ram lights tend to be pretty expensive though.

I am planning on getting the new jconcepts dare body for the slash and want the lights to look real. you said you run them off a 3 cell lipo, is that seperate fom what your truck runs off of?

Since it's a 900mah lipo... .yes it's separate. I mount it in front of the receiver box, connected by micro deans to the lights I'm thinking of putting a switch in..

Most leds run off 12v so by running a 3S lipo which is a 11.1v nominal but 12.6v fully charged I get the voltage I need.

Find the scale light kit you like and mount them up. Many ram kits are designed for a 9v battery but I don't like running a 9V since they aren't rechargeable. Mind you led lights don't pull much power so they run for a long time.

Ahh so I finally got it! now i can make my own with what every configuration i want and it cost only a few bucks. not $20 plus like i have seen

The hardest part of doing it yourself is the light bodies. The leds are pretty much a snap, you can buy 50 5mm leds on ebay for $15 shipped. They even come with the resistor already soldered on, wire and shrink wrapped. Just wire them in parallel to a battery connector.

The hard part is how are you going to mount the leds? I like prolines scale lights like on my summit but there are other companies that make scale accessories. Crawlers use the most scale stuff so look at those.

RPM now has their front bumper kit and roof bars out. These are prototype RAMTech-RC LED kits.

That's pretty cool, do the lights come with the bumper and roof bar or did you add them? Where to get both?

The front bumper and roof rack are made by RPM Products. They are just becoming available now. Your LHS can get them. The lgihts are made by RAMTEch-RC.com and should be available in the next 2 weeks.

well depending on the size that those things accept you could probly just go to radio shack and buy the leds and make up the wireing like i did on mine

RPM has them set up for 3mm LEDs. I made mine out of 3mm as well. If you want to use 5mm, then you can drill them out. RPM send a wiring diagram, so you can wire them yourself if you have a soldering iron.

I set up this form, figured out how to make them, put them on my slash and bammm, rpm sells these kits lol.
