Default No Pin Body Mod

I haven't seen this anywhere on the net so here it is.

Got tired of losing / missing / fussing with Pins.

Used 8x 1/2" Rare-Earth RingMagnets from Lee Valley (Canadian Store) which fit almost perfectly on my 1/16 E-Revo VXL. There was a little extra room in the middle.

Ground the ring off the GH Aluminum stands with a dremel and epoxied the rings down for the Chassis side.

For the body, tried expoxy but it wasn't flexible enough when dry so used Loctite Sumo Glue which seems to work pretty good. Two of the glue pads have detached form the body, but a little Tire Glue sorted that out quick!

After gluing the body ones, and setting the magnets, run a Q-Tip through the centre hole to clear out the extra glue - perfect size...

No effect on Range or anything, but mine's 2.4GHz. Also, done a bit of hard driving including cartwheels & no issues with the body coming off!

Highly recommend &posted here as my LHS was quite taken by it!

Bigger trucks would need the next size up for magnets, probably the 3/4".

Game on,

Fantastic idea. I may just have to use this one! Those little pins really bug me, especially on 1/16s.

This looks nice!

I am using magnets too on my 1/5 scale cars, the bonus is if you crash the body will fall of instead of being ripped in the body post holes
