A noobish Question
 
i've looked at lots of paint job How-to's on the internet but i dont get what side of the car u put the masks on... do u put them on the hood or underneath it. and which side do u paint on? top or underneath???

u paint on the inside.

Also remember that you paint backwards when you paint on the inside.

If you were painting on the outside, you would paint the base coat color, then add any highlights, stripes, etc.

When your painting on the inside, your base color coat will be the last color that you paint. So if you wanted white racing stripes down the center of the car with a pearl red base color for the whole car, you would have to paint the white (the top most color layer) stripes, then dry, then paint the base color.

You can of course paint on the outside, but it will probably chip/flake off quicker as it does some carobatics.

Im just learning myself right now, and I almost made that mistake on my first body.

i do 1 light coat,(wait 20 minutes) 1 thick coat(wait 30 minutes), and 1 more coat so u cant see through(then that takes about 25-35 minutes to dry). Works great so far.
