It's the La Quinta Lakeland-East. I don't know if they have any rooms left, the rumor mill said there booked. Wish I was going. Circumstances beyond my control are made this contest a bridge too far.

Sorry got a dumb question, but it has been a while since I looked at the rules for pattern. What is the rule on what class you fly based on past entered events..i.e. If I entered as a advanced pilot can I go back to inter. or sportsman?

Freeman,
On the topic of which class to fly, the driver is how long since your last contest flying Advanced? Generally, you can't drop back unless you've had a break. Check with John Fuqua at the field on Friday. He's on the rules committee and can probably give you an answer.

Garry,
I just checked online with the Motel 6 and they seem to have rooms. The rooms were 49.95 per night for single. I've seen this place and it's not bad, but it's no Hampton or anything like that. The motel is located at exit 32 which is the next exit west of the La Quinta. Just my 2 cents.

Ok guys I have the gate code for everyone: 4657#. My e-mail is still down and if someone could get on the NSRCA List and post this gate code I would greatly appreciate it. The weather this weekend is suppose to be perfect. For all the electric flyers, I'm going to have and extra 7500 watt generator and some long extension cords and any extra cords you fellows might have please bring them.
Thanks
Larry

Speaking for the host RC club, Propbusters of Lakeland, we hope everyone has a great weekend in Lakeland and enjoys our flying field. Larry does a great job so you know it will be a very well ran contest. The weather Gods are cooperating and the field is in excellent shape. We are sorry thecity would not permit overnight camping and we understand the inconvenience it causes but our hands were tied.
Nonetheless, enjoy the flying and fun and we hope everyone has a great time!

I will not be going to the contest as the motoer mount broke along with the nose ring. I cannot find a replacement nose ring in time for the contest.
I may go to help, out Larry in the judging arena.
Does anyone have the GPS coordinates I can plug into my Tom Tom?

Orlando,
Use 2900 Old Polk City Hwy Lakeland, FL 33809
That should get you right to the gate. Also I put direction at the beginning of this thread. It's very simple from I-4.
I was sure hoping you were bringing your V2 to fly.

Well folks we had a great first day. You would not believe the wonderful weather we had. It is in the mid to low 80's and almost no wind except around 3PM and we got a little bit of a breeze. It didn't last long at all then it was all calm again. The guys from the Pensacola area came in full force with a total of 7 pilots. Greg Grigsby came down with them and it was sure good to see him out and about. I'll have a better report on Sunday night with some photos that Jason took.
Thanks

Wish I was down there, but the weather up here has not cooperated until this week to practice. Yesterday was the first time I have flown the new Master's sequence all the way through, and that was only one flight. And it was ugly! Hope you guys are having fun, and I look forward to the results.

Well everyone I think we all had a good time. We had one other hick up with the program that the masters schedule was wrong. There was only one maneuver that had to be written out and the other just had to be placed in order. A little cutting and pasting and we had the schedule corrected and working great. Gene Maurice is aware of the issue and is correcting it now. The new program work really easy.
We had sixteen pilots and the order of finishing is as such.
Sportsman
Yves Lalime
Terry Green
George Gordon
Intermediate
Neil Rivera
Houston Schweitzer
Larry Odom
Mike Plummer
Gary Freeman Jr
Advance
Victor Diaz
Masters
Chris Odom
John Fuqua
David Stodart
Ron Van Putte
Victor Diaz
Greg Grigsby
FAI
Jason Shulman
Ron Ellis
