Question 2x2 Electric motor choices

Hi all,
I need advice on electric motors, I'm currently looking at a new motor for my fantasista that I am building. I have a Plenttenberg Evo 30-10 in my current model. I was looking at the belt drive OS OMR 4043, it appears to be a good motor, any personal experience or figures on the OS belt drive?, how does it compare to the Pletty advance, or Hacker Q80? The Pletty advance is almost half the price. I haven't found much info on the OS.
regards Anthony

Pletenberg is a solid choice, same with the hacker. You should also look at the hacker C50 inrunner motors or the geared Neu motors. I don't know about the OS, but if it is more expensive then don't bother, all these other motors are fantastic.

Why do you prefer the OS over the Hacker Q80? is it better in terms of braking or power or lower running current?

Hi Anthony,
Preference for a motor is more or less a personal preference. Like the taste of beer brands etc. I prefer geared motors over non geared. Prefer the Neu and C50 over the Advance and EVO 30/10. Have used all four of them. Can't give a real explantion. Have ordered an OS belt too and have high hopes.Saw the two Japanese pilots fly them at the WC2015 and concluded that I would probably like the OS belt as much as a like the Neu or C50.

The torque on the airframe is less with a geared motor. The motor is running at higher rpm and less torque than a direct drive system producing the same power. On the downside the gears, belts, etc. require more maintenance.

Any new conclusions/updates on how the OS motor compares to the Q80 and Pletty Advanced?

The power/rpm, feel and handling are like a C50-14XL or even a little better.
