Well weather was hot but virtually no wind.

I can tell you this.....

Sportsman......Kendall Obrien won with his .40 sportstar.......
(Sam aka Me....had an aileron linkage pull apart and plowed my eclipse in, during the second round, I borrowed an angel shadow for the 3rd round and used my funtana for rounds 4-6....ended up second. Alex got third

Intermediate.....John Grahm won even after round four he had a mid air with Chip hyde and destroyed his angel Shadow.

Advanced.....Not sure who won but Local Tom Collins pulled out a second place.

Masters......Rusty from Pheonix won with Angel Shadow

FAI.......Chip won rounds 1 and 2. Local Trent Byrd won round 3. In round 4 Chip had a Midair.......(see above).....Lost half his right wing but was able to land. He then glued back his fuse and "borrowed" wings from Trent and went on to finish that round and win it. Trent had "motor" problems and only ran half his round. In the end Chip won FAI with Trent a close 2nd and not sure of the 3rd place guys name........Frank Kelley came in 4th with his angel Shadow II.

The top three FAI.......Chip, Genesis electric........Trent Genesis with YS 140...........3rd.....was another Genesis Electric.

Official results I'll post once I get emailed them along with carnage pics. There were numerous crashes due to pilot or equipment error but other than that the weather was awesome.

Here's the carnage pics.

Eclipse Before and After

Here's the Damage report......Appears the right aileron linkage came apart totally, and the left one was starting to come apart. The rudder also pulled out all its hinges from the fuse. (not sure if that happened before or after the crash)

-Front of fuse is cracked in 3 places
-YS 140 Bolt mounts broke of crank case
-Right wing root broke off (easy fix)
-pheonic Tube for the wing in the plane broke free
-Gear plate broke in half
-some side fuse damage where the gear plate ripped out
-Rudder hinges pulled out
-Spinner damage and prop broke
-wheel pants destroyed
-chin cowl destroyed

I've already got a new fuse coming From Hobbies X-treme (Plane white kit version). My wings/elevators/rudder have all been stripped of ultracoat and are being prepped to be recovered.

Here's a Giles Pattern plane.

Donny Weitz...... he showed up Sunday and this was his first flight.....he got about 2/3rds done and his battery died. His plane ended up about 1 mile away.......Little bit of front fuse damage and gear ripped out.......Not bad. It skidded on the ground over 50ft.......but it went in level at maybe 20-40 degrees nose down.

Crash report back on my Eclipse.

It looks like the fuse will be repaired. I've already started it. It doesn't look too bad for now.

I can't say for sure on the flying qualites because the guys flying them make any plan look awesome. Trent Byrd does like his alot though.
Infact I believe he is getting an electric one also.

As for the build quality, they are the same as any CA models Aircraft, and the paint job is superb.

I know this is an old thread, just found it and wanted to post that the Genesis is by far the BEST flying pattern airplane I have flown. I do have an electric one coming soon. The plane flies itself no matter what attitude you put it in. I am hoping to make the rest of the pattern meets in D7 this year and would be glad to answer anymore questions.

Trent is right, the Genesis is the best plane I have flown also. The plane does the best rolling manuvers and
just a unbelivable plane. I flew the electric verson at the nats and it's even better.

Todd, I will be getting mine the first of September. I am selling both of my angels shadows now to try and pay for it. I just put the G3 receiver in this morning and man why didnt I do it sooner. This thing is incredible. You are so connected and the plane is litterally at your fingertips. It is hard to explain the difference this receiver makes with the highest speed resolution.
