The Turkish national F3A competition will be on the 1st of June and the first 3 will go to European Championship in August. I am practicing quite a lot for our nats and hope to be able to finish in the first 3 so that I too can go to Italy as part of the Turkish team. There are really good fliers here, it will be tough to beat them but I'll do my best.
If I can manage to be in the team I'll see you there Nikos

Nice plane, I am attending the event with two planes:
- ZN Line Synergy - YS 160DZ
- CARF Integral - YS 170DZ (Main plane)
The other member of the team will be participating with:
- ZN Line Oxalys which can be powered by either a Hacker C50 or a YS-160DZ, the plane can be converted from glow to electric in 10 minutes.
Radio equipment: JR
Hope to see you there,
Nikos

Hi Jason,
The pilot, Elias actually can provide info here. On this plane he has tried various power plants such as Cyclon, Pletenberg, Hacker and YS. Currently he flies YS. I think he sticks a firewall extension on the main firewall and then screws the Hacker motor stand. The battery sits at the short pipe area. I don't have any picture of the Hacker motor installation. Here is the YS and the previous Cyclon configuration
Rgrds,
Nikos

Thank you for the pics Nikos. That is interesting. It would have to be a bit different if it was a 2 piece wing set-up I think. I like the stand-off/full adjustable mount for the electric.

You are right, those are the old wide band, there must be an error there, unless someone request to use that, if so, I don't want to even see their radios.

Hallo all
I follow almost all the discusions but this is my first post here.
Sorry for not replying earlyer ,I had an F3D race in CZ last week and was busted with preparations (Randy Bridge was there too !)
About the setup ,Nikos posted some pics of the tests I did earlyer with various setups ,starting with Plett 13 ,Cyclon F3A ,Hacker.
The plett setup was the lightest of all ,horizontal manouvers where a joy !,Cyclon was extremely powerfull but was killing the batts,it was also as heavy as Hacker maybe more ,sorry for not having numbers ,I have some in my workshop. The cyclon setup you see was from a pic I sent to friends making a joke with two pack sets put in to the plane .The mount was universal for all outrunner tests.
The Hacker setup uses a front mount with Hatori Heli muffler soft mouts (silicon) .A similar mount but with a big hole is for the nose ring of the YS setup.
I promise some pics as soon as I take out my engine for cleaning (every 50 flights or so) it should be close.
Now I go practice... it`s a nice sunny day here !
It`s really nice to talk to you all through here
Elias Sopeoglou
Ps pics are coming soon

Just saw the photos of the model in the caption. It looks like light gray with light blue and orange trim. Is that hard to see in cloudy conditions?

That looks like a serious day of practice... not the pilots, they look so relaxed

We miss you here in Israel.
I see that you use only one servo for the elevator.
Can you explain why not two servos in the tail ?
Best regards and good luck in the European Championship.

Hello again
Thanks for the kind words, I will try to do my best. It's not getting easier to get a good results, there is a lot of pilots flying very good these days.
Regarding the Integral, the stab is actually a Synergy stab, for no other reason than that I had a set of foam-cores laying around. The wing is foam also, same planform as original Integral, but with the same airfoil thickness all the way from root to tip ie. thinner at tip than original.
Isaac : I enjoyed visiting you all, there is a team from Israel coming to the EC also, is it not ? I prefer the single full-size servo for several reasons:
- The bigger servos are more robust and precise
- I prefer to have the weight closer to the CG, servos in the tail moves mass far awy.
- The total weight is lower with one servo, the long cables from RX to the tail-mounted servos are fare heavier than wire pull-pull to the MK bellcrank.
Best regards

Yea, who's going to be posting the results, pictures and videos
during the practice and contest? Since I'm stuck indoors with no chance to practice anytime soon (Hurricane wanna-be Fay) I've got nothing to do except watch this thread for updates
.
Best of luck to everyone and looking forward to the reports of the new planes being flown.
