RE: CAMODEL PASS-PORT BUILD (very slow)
Thanks Jon!
thanks for your advice, I will keep an eye on it, I have never use this mount before, I was using the standart hatori mount before..
I´ll check weigth for the wing panels as I get home and let you know.
Best Regards.

I bent mine's like that on my old Osmose, and holded pretty well(2 years), of course, the bend was at the spring coil, so there are no sharp bends on the wire wich is tempered.

RE: CAMODEL PASS-PORT BUILD (very slow)
I flew this weekend.
feels great, rudder authority is amazing, snaps are beautiful, down lines are very slow. feels rock solid in the air.
I moved my CG forward of the wing tube, It ended so far about 1 cm in front of the tube.
the wing incidence is a little more than 0.5 deg. i aded half a turn on each regulator.
mixes: rudder to aileron 4%
rudder to elev 2%
I think i will try thro to rudder about 1%
so far the setup is near-perfect for my taste, a couple of more fligths will tell.
some pics.

RE: CAMODEL PASS-PORT BUILD (very slow)
What prop are you using?
I ran the 18.1X10 on an Integral last season and was never satisfied with the sound level, throttle responce or breaking. I'm looking for new suggestions.
Thanks
Colin.

Colin
I´m using 17x13, very good throtle responce, satisfied noise check, is not so good on the breaking for other planes but at this weigth is not problem
I tried 18.1x10 and I think the 1.70 needs a "heavier" prop, also tried 18.1x12 and was to much. 18.1x11 would be great I guess, but so far I´m happy with the 17x13
thanks

Hi Colin
I use APC 18,1 x 11 with 25 % nitro on Partner and 170 DZ.
Rpm is about 7500 t/mn because set up is rich. Throtle responce is smooth and noice very light.
On his Intégral Steph Carrier uses APC 18,1x11 on 170 DZ and 19x11 on 170 cdi (7% oil).
With 19x11 engine is very silent.
Claude.

RE: CAMODEL PASS-PORT BUILD (very slow)
Tuny,
How do you keep your fuel tank from moving back and forth in the bulkhead mounts? I copied what you and Jim Woodward did on my Osmose, but my tank moves with engine vibration and maneuvering. It is pretty tight in the bulkhead, but it moves anyway. Right now, I have a couple of tie wraps around the tank front and rear, but that is not a real satisfactory method.
I had a friend take a couple of pictures of your former Brio, but I'm waiting for him to send me the files.
Glad your Passport flies so well, and great thread!

RE: CAMODEL PASS-PORT BUILD (very slow)
Thanks Jon.
to hold the fuel tank in place, I glued a 1/8 balsa piece that fits inside of the two formers to the bottom side of the tank, glue it to the tank with double sided foam tape after the tank is in place, this will keep it in place, also you can add silicon glue to hold it to the formers direclty. I like my method because you can remove the balsa retainer if needed and remove the tank. and you cant see the balsa so it looks great to.
here is a pic, I think it explains more than my words.

I did the same thing! However I used velcro to hold the balsa piece to the tank.
I think Tuny gets the award for best thread of 2009! Najary gets the award from his work on the Osmose too from last year.

RE: CAMODEL PASS-PORT BUILD (very slow)
CDI update.
Its a YS 170 CDI update, using separate battery for the ignition, I used a 7,4v 910mah thunder power lipo, a duralite 6.0v regulator and a futaba sw.
I updated to CDI, first changed all the necesary parts on the engine.
then start looking for a place for all the components so my CG stays on the same place.
mounted everything and finally relocated the receiver batery back next to the receiver (before it was where the CDI battery is now)

RE: CAMODEL PASS-PORT BUILD (very slow)
Tuny,
I like your your color scheme, nice to see a different looking Passport. I think you are going to really enjoy flying this plane. I am loving mine. I entered my first Pattern contest this weekend, had a great time. There were three other Passports there, and they all flew very well. They were all electric powered, and the same factory red color scheme. Yours will be a refreshing change. I'm looking forward to your flight reports!

RE: CAMODEL PASS-PORT BUILD (very slow)
Thanks 1bwana1!!!
So far I have about 40 Fligths on the passport and I really love it, its an amazing plane, its very precise at low speeds, snaps great, I mean REALLY great, very little mixing required, it flies near perfect.
