Jim Hubbard Memorial Pattern Contest June 26 and 27
Guys things are really looking up for our contest in Hoffman Estates Illinois.
So far I'm pretty sure we will have over 30 fliers coming with many more possible attendee's.
Maybe we'll get lucky and actually have some decent weather this year.
Our field in Hoffman Estates is open for practice all the time if your coming early.
Hotels are only a mile away from the field and very resonably priced.
Post here if you think your making it so we can better prepare.
We look forward to hosting this event.
This event was dedicated to honor our great friend Jimmy Hubbard. He's missed dearly but will never be forgotten.
Thanks, Mike Mueller

Mike, me and Patti are planning on being there as long as the weather seems promising. This will be my first time at Hoffman Estates. Looking forward to it. Can you provide hotel recommendations (nothing fancy).
Thanks

Hi Mike,
MoKan Pattern Contest is the same weekend. We still honor Jimmy's name during our contest. Next year, I am going to try to move the MoKan contest one week to avoid conflicts.
Thanks,
Vicente ''Vince'' Bortone

Hey Mike,
I'll be out on Sunday to watch what I hope to partake in sometime in the next year or so, and to resume the chat that got cut short at FVAC if you find a few minutes. Weather is looking good, warm (yeah) but good.

Hey just so everyone knows we have plenty of parking this year. The Forest Preserves doubled the size of our lot since the debacle we experienced last year so we are all good to go.
Now if the weather cooperates that would be even better. So far it's looking decent with only a 17% chance of some type of rain and moderate winds.

We're having an organized dinner setup for Saturday evening and an informal plan to go to the fabulous Assembly Bar and Grill on Friday night for the famous Bionic Burgers and some Micro brew. See ya soon, M²
PS here's some pics of our field. One is from the contest a few years ago.The one with the turned over tables was from the storm that came thru last Friday. It turned our heavy tables over. The wind must have been really booking for that to happen. The other pic is of the storm coming in. Locally there was a significant amount of damage from 2 fronts that came thru that night. Then last night we had another really bad storm come thru.

Thanks to the entire Chicago gang for being such great hosts this past weekend. Terrific event despite getting rained out on Sunday. The weather gods just aren't on are side for Sunday flying this season.....or maybe I am bringing the bad weather....I am 0 for 2 on contest Sundays (rain and wind outs).
Thanks again to all....looking forward to seeing you all at the Nats in a few weeks.

Thanks to Frank and the rest of the D5 gang for a well run contest. Patti and I had a great time. Hopefully we can make it an annual trip. Perhaps Obama can do something about the Chicago traffic. We sure did pay for the great weather on Sat with some down right nasty weather on Sunday. Good thing we got out of there when we did. See you all at the NATs.

Jim Hubbard Memorial Pattern Classic...thank you!
Thank you to the "Chicago Pattern Animals", Frank D. (CD), Larry and Lana for scoring and the "gang" for the fine hospitality and a super smooth event!! Saturday could not have been hotter or more humid.
I am constantly reminded of the fine levels of sportsmanship and assistance offered by the pattern community and this event was no exception.

Thanks giuys for being there. Without you guys participating were nothing.
We had 31 guys show up but 2 had to leave early because of equipment problems.
Thanks tooFrank, Lana, Larry, Mickey and of course the members of our fields 2 clubs. Tri Village and NWRC and everyone who put in the timeand effort to allow us tofly.
Maybe just maybe there will be a chance sometime this year to get in a 2 day contest.
So far this year the Shootout was winded out on Sunday.
The Bud Weber in Milwaukee was fogged out on all day Saturday
and now the Jimmy Hubbard was a no go weather wise on Sunday. 3 for 3 is enough!
