Spot On 120 or Focus

Hello

I recently crashed my Groovy 90http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f.../cry_smile.gif (finally had it trimmed and flying beatifully). Anyway I want a new pattern plane in which to put my 120AX and I'm undecided between the Spot On 120 and the Focus. Which would be a better flying plane.

I suspect the Focus would be a better choice but that's just me.

I've both the Spot-On 110 & the 120, the 120 size is no longer in production. The 110 size is a very capable plane, snaps & rolls nicely.

Adrian, what's the difference between the Spot-on 110 and 120? I never tried the 110 but all three Spot-On 120s I tried needed a bit too much down correction in inverted flight for my taste. Of course they were all probably a bit nose heavy with the OS120AX. Is the 110 a smaller or bigger plane?

Jayjay,

The 110 is slightly shorter both in wing span & fuse, & is designed for the 110 sized engine. If you do a search on my Spot-On build thread here, you will find my review on the 110 towards the end.

The Focus is going to be a little lacking in power with an os120ax. I have have had several and my current plane is a focus 2. With a os140 RX on a pipe it is little low on omph. I have to keep my verticals shorter than I would like or all i get is a mush over the top. I had an os1.20 ax and while be a great engine it ain't enough to a 10.5 pound plane. Many people ran os160FXs in their focus.

I would assume he means the Focus Sport.

Joe, at 10.5 lbs with an OS 1.40 I hope it is a Focus or Focus II!
