E-Motion center of gravity
Getting close on getting the E-Motion going, checking the CG.
The instructions say: Schwerpunkt=195 von der Nasenleite gemessen. Which i take is the center of gravity, But not being fluent in english and not being fluent in whatever language that was, German maybe. Does anyone that has flown one of these have a preferred center of gravity? 195mm is behind the wing tube. it might be correct, then again maybe not. Any help Thanks |
RE: E-Motion center of gravity
I don't have the mesrurement but I'm flying with the Himax motor and castle useing Power Unlimited batteries. I put the battery back over hanging about 3/4 of inch behind the landing pad,and it fly fine. The same has been for if you use a Petty we have try it and it made no differnce. If I get a chance I'll take a picture and put wing on and get some number for you. What are you useing for power? we have flown four of them and all same place.

RE: E-Motion center of gravity
Dennis, I went to an online translation site and it said: "focal point =195 of the Nasenleite measured". I hope this helps. LOL.

RE: E-Motion center of gravity
I looked at my notes and I had settled on 195mm back from the LE at the root. I think this is 29%MAC if memory serves.
Your batteries will hang off the back of the stock tray. I think I started at 185mm and found the plane flew (especially rolls) better and better as I moved the CG back to 195. Dan |

RE: E-Motion center of gravity
It means the CG should be 195 mm measured from the leading edge.
