Bear Mountain Flyers Fall Pattern Event - Oct. 1st & 2nd
On October 1st and 2nd the Bear Mountain Flyers will be hosting the Fall Pattern Contest originally scheduled for the AVTI club in Lancaster, CA. The BMF location will probably have much better weather then Lancaster and it can also draw a bit better from the north. Here is a link to the club's website for directions to the field,
http://www.bearmountainflyers.net/home Along with the normal Pattern Classes we will be offering the four Classic Pattern classes. Novice, Sportsman, Advanced and Masters. The rules will be as posted on the Ballistic pattern Association website. Here is that link, http://www.ballisticpattern.com/ It will be your choice what class you want to fly. You can enter both the regular pattern events and Classic. Here is a link to a Flyer for the event. http://www.patternflying.com/NewsDetailPage.aspx?ID=126 What is not mentioned is that you can enter both the regular AMA/F3A classes and Classic pattern. A second class will be an additional $10 entry fee. I will post a link to a site where you can pre-register soon. Pre-registering will be highly recommended. Hope to see all you Classic fans out at this event! Let's get this thing going and let's add some more fun to pattern events! |
RE: Bear Mountain Flyers Fall Pattern Event - Oct. 1st & 2nd
Here is a link for the pre-registration form for the contest. http://www.patternflying.com/TempRegistrationPage.aspx If you are competing in the classic pattern put "(CP)" to the right of your last name, so we can get an idea who is interested. If you are entering both AMA and classic, you can put "(both)" to the right of your last name and select the AMA class you wish. You will still have to select an AMA class either way at the bottom.....not much we can do about that at this time. Any direct questions about classic pattern, go ahead and contact Tony F. for the details. Looking forward to seeing you all at the contest.

Just wanted to give every one a heads up. The power line at the field has some issues, so right now there is no power at the field. They are trying to arrange for a big generator to provide power, but that has yet to be resolved. So plan on your generators if you're flying electric!

Chuck, sorry to hear about your midair. You got to join the 'had a midair' club earlier than those that haven't had one 'yet'.

ORIGINAL: shannah Randy, Congratulations on your win in Sportsman! As long as I'm waxing poetic, I'd like to say I'm glad Steve introduced me to Pattern flying, I had been trying to learn IMAC on my own and after a couple years hadn't gotten very far, but just this year in my five contests I have met some very nice, helpful people that really seem to care about the hobby and the people involved in it. The relaxed atmosphere is perfect for my personality. Looking forward to the championship weekend. Randy |

Jarvis didn't add the Classic Pattern results. We flew it as a separate class during the normal rounds, it was really cool.

It's clear to me that Jim Oddino has no rudder on his Integral. If he had one, could he have won? I may have to try this technique. Seems he did really well without it! haha
