Can somebody say overkill?

@Nathan

For pattern it is definitely overkill, but I bet a scale jet pilot would have no trouble filling all 18 channels and wanting more. :D

Still you will see somone flying a foamy with it.

In my opinion the radio itself is part of the hobby, I still remember when I had the 9ZAP of a friend of mine in my hands, it was just about the radio, I was wishing I could have one, not that I needed it, but wanted it bad...

It will be the same here, do I need an Axiome+ with the YS175? No, but still, same with the radio. And let's remember, is not a matter of the channels, is the functionality.

Best regards

You found college for 3K a semester?  I knew there was a reason you were living in TN.  :D

It will be interesting to see how well the GPS telemetering works. I played with an early version of Eagle Tree's system and learned I was flying parallel to the runway better than I thought. The bad news was I lost the GPS signal as soon as I rolled or looped. They came out with a better antenna later but I never tried it.

If it works it sure would help pattern flyers to determine if they were flying in the right airspace and that the tops and bottoms of maneuvers were where they should be. I'm looking forward to it. I'm hoping it also provides info on signal strength at the receiver. That would have told me I had a bad transmitter module and saved an airplane if I had had it in July.

Enough channels to fly 3 or 4 planes at one time. HAHAHAHA

Bet it will take 4 guys just to operate it and keep all those controls straight. Thought people were using multiple radios in some of the really big planes where a second pilot operated some of the other than primary flight functions. I am afraid that $2999 will buy me a lot of airplanes for my cheap ole Hitec radio

Ouch! That price hurts even just sitting here not thinking about buying one.

Hi
If we paid that price in the UK it wouldn't be so bad, but I will bet you a considerable sum of money, when it is released over here it will be on sale for 3K Sterling. When it comes to model goods we take it up the tail pipe in the UK. which is why to the considerable annoyance of Ripmax a good proportion of the 14MZ in the UK were imported.

M

ps and Still no Futaba version of Model Match, come on Futaba wakey wakey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
