RE: Coupling question
Bryan,
You wrote the following comment in an earlier post "....you tell me the mix, I'll tell you the fix...." If that ain't one the catchiest phrases of all time....Let me suggest that to be your title on your new book. LOL!! Just like the book on how to build a pattern model, it would be an invaluable resource to the budding pattern competitor.... One obvious thing seen on Dave's Contra Bravo, no right thrust. The contra actually eliminated one compromise we all have assumed gospel for decades. Now, if only I can figure out how to tame the torque pulse on my OS33GT gassie and use one of these suckers...... |
RE: Coupling question
Ha Ha,
I have done just that with my new advanced ,trim guide really easy to use no rambleing to read through. May be I`ll add a link to my website for quick help." Tell me the mix I tell you the Fix" yea,, I like it:)thank s Matt! I`m looking forward to working with the contra and sharing what I find. Jason I like that guys spirit ,, Retracts I love um ,I don`t know who he is, but it looks like he has a lot of time invested in designing that Plane. Tony, paragraph 2 is just saying we need to spend more time using common sense trimming, to fugure out out trim issues and less time talking about stuff we can`t really prove,or disprove. 99% of mix is always a indicator of incomplete design, or incomplete trimming. The small wing fad and down thrust fix has burnt us all, and it`s where 90% of all the trouble begins with mixes. they are just harder to understand and seperate with the latest airplanes , there is not a dimes bit of difference between all decent airplanes on the market today, different nose, few different angles and different colors. The real difference is in the setup, and the placement of wings and surfaces for c/g placement . Anything can be made to fly smooth But the Devil is really in the details, and I know you believe details matter. Another one of the biggest myths is that if you make the tail moment longer the model will fly better ,but they make the moment arm with wood, not c/g :) and the airplane flys poor. Common modeler sense will get us farthur than anything else when it comes to set up .I know your on the same page there. I hope to see everyone at the nat`s Bryan |
RE: Coupling question
Hi Bryan,
Apparently, it's Manfred Greve and his daughter (?). Should be a nice day for trimming tomorrow with 3-4 kmh winds.... With any luck, using your methods, I should be able to get rid of my slight pull in the up-lines and slight push in LH knife edge. Its close... Cheers, Jason. |

ORIGINAL: Jason Arnold Here are some more pictures. Almost looks like a shark or dolphin... [&:] Long retracts are a cinch once you realize that carbon tubing can be used for struts. A stock tube available at several places has 1/4" OD and 0.15" ID; lighter and stiffer than Ti |
