Futaba BLS 152 servo

:D

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has also experienced this:

I am using the Futaba BLS 152 servo on the Rudder of my Xigris and after instaling I noticed that with no TX application the Rudder would momentarily flick left and right.
During engine start YS175 CDI the Rudder would start to oscilate .The oscilation can be stopped with moving the Rudder using Tx or by holding with hand.

Is this a peculiarity of BLS servo or is the servo no good.......It is a new servo by the way

Many Thanks

kind regards

If you are running it with High Voltage and have a long lead from the RX to the servo, then the likely issue is noise on the signal line, a good explanation is here: http://www.servocity.com/html/booste...xtensions.html

RE: Futaba BLS 152 servo

I've got a 9255 on the Rudder of my Aries 07 that will start to misbehave when the rudder push/pull wires slacken off.
It seems when they reach just the right tension, it'll break into oscillations even without the engine running and like your case, touching the rudder will damp it enough to stop it.

You may have a dud servo, or maybe just hit on the right combination of rudder mass/cable streatchiness to set it oscillating. Just for kicks try taping 30+ grams of lead to the end of the rudder (to change the frequency of the system) and do a ground run. Might just need more friction on the push/pull cables?

Hi

I am not running long wires but I have two Lipos through an EMCOTEC Regulator on the RX.
This happens with batteries fully charged.....the servo is new and the engine CDI runs from RX

THANKS

Maybe switch the 152 to a different channel, or try a standard 4-cell nicad pack?

152 is rated at 430oz-in @ 6v. Seems too strong for pattern use :-).

Mavros,

Is your cable tension too high maybe? I have seen this problem in Futaba and also JR and it was related to that, some does it some don't, but it still work no problem.

BLS 155, 9155, 9156, 9151 all of those work great, some other servos jitter in center (it happens on the 9351 also).in theory they work perfect but if you dont like it try one of the above. I have never use that servo but it seems way overkill for F3A use

Hi all,

Firstly sorry for late reply busy with work,

I have slacken the tension on the pull / pull wires and the problem is now rectified .Servo works fine ....
