The annual Tangerine Pattern Contest sponsored by RCACF will not take place in December, 2013. I'm considering a 3 day weekend event to include SPA/BPA/AMA/F3A to be held during the month of March, 2014. More details to follow when they become available.

March is usually iffy weather-wise in NorcenFla. The Players was moved from March to May specifically for that reason.

Steve, it seemed every Ocala contest we had in the 90's and early 2000's in March, the wind won every round....The caveat is more difficulty for families with schoolage kids

Nevertheless, a longer, combined Tangerine sounds like a great idea....

A combined 3 day SPA/BPA/AMA event is a great idea.  The 2008 Tangerine, which featured all three,  is probably the best event I ever attended.

If memory serves, there are no three day weekends (I.e. Federal Holodays) in March.  However, many of the schools have their Spring Break then.  Here in the Eglin Aero Modellers, we have a large group of kiks who'd like to participate.  I'll let you know when the Okaloosa County Schools have their break.

I just checked the Okaloosa County school calendar.  Spring Break is 24-28 March, so the weekend of 29-30 March would be good for the Eglin gang.  We have two kids (Cody Powell and Colby Estes) competing in pattern and three or four more in the 11 to 14 year old range who expressed interest in flying pattern.

Ragardless of the date chosen, we will work to get as many of our young flyers to your contest.  I <div>guarantee, if you put on an event like the 2008 Tangerine combined SPA/BPA/AMA contest, these kids will be hooked for life.

It appears the Tangerine Pattern Contest will be now be held the weekend of March 15 & 16, 2014, for AMA/F3A at RCACF in Apopka, FL.

The D3 Tangerine Pattern Contest for AMA/F3A will be held March 15 & 16, 2014 at RCACF in Apopka, FL. The AMA online sanction has been approved. When I receive the packet in the mail from AMA with the sanction number, I'll post the flyer.

Ordered up some great Florida weather for the contest this weekend. Forecast calling for mostly sunny, light winds with highs in the upper 70's. Bring sunscreen!
