New Great Planes Sequence 120

Hey guys,

Interesting! The Apollo 70 and 90 are clearly different designs, both in fuselage and wing (plug-in versus one piece). They appear heavily influenced by
recent Japanese designs. I'll probably give the Apollo 90 a try:) |

Looking at other designs of late, the sequence looks right on with the EF Vanquish.. That has proven itself to be very reliable flyer.
One could say the Vanquish is tech. an OLD name, but they didn't need to RE-invent the wheel. They tweeked the heck out of it.. The Sequence is a good 350$ less than the EF. I don't know anything about electric setups, but I believe the 2M setups use 10-12S LIPO??? I hope both are great flyers..... Although it would have been nice to see a adjustable incidence. for the wings/elevator.... |

Would a YS 120 NC be enough motor to fly this airframe the way it was intended. The recommended engine is an OS 155 FS pumped, or a 120 2C.

I just noticed the GP120 in the Tower catalog also. It's seem to me a 5S 5000mAH sounds small for a 120 sized plane. I fly my 70 sized plane with a 5S 5000mah. I would think 120 planes fly on 8S (but I've never flown and electric that big.)

They're recommending a 6S battery with their Rimfire 120 motor (pretty high kV). Static amps around 80, in flight around 72. This is about 1800 watts on the ground. Should fly ok with that power for Sportsman. If the plane weighs 10 or more pounds like they're saying, then it'll likely be a bit lacking for Intermediate or higher sequences. I would go with 8S and a lower kV motor.

Thanks! Ken If it were me, I would go for the DZ160. I wouldn't even consider the OS 155, YS DZ's are far superior in performance. The 140 will run rings around it, but the 160 would be a great engine for this plane. |

At 1st I didn't get what you meant by "DZ160" ect. I was like " is that a old brand that has been recently imported!....
I have a DZ 1.60 that I picked up used that I haven't ran yet. Thought about placing it in my Ef 78" extra, or I my topflite 1.20 corsair. I had originally wanted to place it in the Ef 2m Vanquish but I am tired of modifying planes for my engine of choice to fit. PITA! Gets old after a while. The .90 size pattern plane that tower now caries, (gas tank placement over C. G, and fuel line run and long tunnel) is more thought out than the sequence... The Devil is IN details and great planes has yet to change with the times, when it comes to the hardware and control links... They discontinued models, revise the "over all airframe shape" but fail to do something really flattering in terms of design. Why not have a tank over CG placement in the Sequence?.. I realize that not all engines can do well with it there, but at least give the option. |
All in all I do like the "main shape" of this plane. Would like to pick one up, but have too many planes right now. I would like to see a build of it! Get some picks of it !! Someone standing next to it with the nose down?
