Less than 3 weeks away. Looking forward to it and should have a few from the CFL area joining in the fun.

RevMaster01 08-26-2014 07:18 PM

My travel partner bowed out... it's 10hrs to Huntsville from the Space Coast here in FL. I'm going to ponder this for a few days. Hope my ORM comes down on the side of trip to Alabama...

I may try to make it if I get some flying in between now and then.

I can't make this year the event plus i don't have my plane ready yet

flyncajun 09-09-2014 07:06 AM

Thought I was bringing more guys but, it looks like Brian Clemmons and I will be there Friday afternoon

jonlowe 09-10-2014 04:45 AM

This is shaping up to be a pretty good event, especially in FAI. Jason Shulman is already here, Mike Harrison, Bill Ahrens, Brian Hebert, and AC Glenn are coming, and there is a possibility that Dave Johnstone will come. FAI may be larger than Masters for a change! Weather looks good, with cooler temperatures and sunshine predicted for Sat and Sun.

Yesterday Jon and Gary did some practicing of the new Masters pattern and today Doug and Tom came up from Mississippi to join Jon and I for some practicing/coaching/plane set-up. Tomorrow my plane should be here and I can get a couple of practice flights in of F3A (I now know both Masters patterns). Looks like the weekend weather will be perfect, 80 Saturday and 85 Sunday ;)

jetmech43 09-11-2014 11:37 PM

I will be there around 1

Planeclaims 09-12-2014 04:57 AM

Jas, enjoy! Looks like you'll have moderate to strong winds out of the north (right down the runway there) are in the forecast for Saturday with moderate winds out of the north for Sunday. Steve

Some morning clouds but there were about 12 of us out practicing today. A few of us decided to head out to dinner.

Jon and the RCRC Club,

Thanks for putting on an outstanding contest. I had a great time and am looking forward to it next year.

jetmech43 09-15-2014 01:14 AM

Yeah me too, good to see everyone again

JAS 09-15-2014 05:59 AM

Thanks to Jon for a great contest and putting up with me for 6 days. Small but fun contest with the exception of the midair.

Scott, great job with the scoring, it's motivated me to look at the program again (although I'm sure I need it updated) for our March contest.

Here are a few pics from the contest.

Hey Bill... I think I know why the judges are scared ;)

Pilots meeting

All but two of the planes. I missed Keith's pink Integral (earlier pic of it a couple posts up) and John's Prolog was flying when I took the pics and unfortunately didn't come back :(

Free pizza and drinks for the pilots for Saturday lunch.

Since Masters was only 4 points apart between 1st and 2nd, and Jon and Gary were the only 2 flying the 6th round, we decided to have a 1 round fly-off using all 4 of the F3A pilots as judges. I think I heard "Nats pressure" said from both Gary and Jon.

Planes are packed for FL
