Prophecy for lower level AMA?

What can the brain trust tell me about the Prophecy as a entry/lower level model for AMA Pattern?

Thanks,
Jim

It's a fine plane.
Don't worry about making an appearance with it.

And I came here looking for your prediction for the lower classes :)

Any of the older turnaround style pattern planes will be competitive in the lower classes. In capable hands even the higher AMA classes. Keep it light and learn to control the speed and it should be fine.

You'll be impressed with how much positive attention you'll get with it. It'll bring back some good memories for those that flew pattern back in the early 90's.

Like the others said, it is MORE than capable of being competitive in the lower classes. Have fun with it!

Thanks guys.

As for a prophecy, I predict there will be lower classes in AMA:)

A Goldberg Falcon 56 and good hands can be competitive in Sportsman or intermediate.

+1 for everything said above! Make sure everything is straight, get the airplane set-up so it will do all the required maneuvers (throws, expo and/or dual rates), maybe have an 'expert' fly it. Then practice as much as you can with a coach as often as you can.
Good Luck!

We had a competitor in the Intermediate class a few months ago. He was flying a Curare. He finished 3rd out of 10 places. Was interesting seeing turn-around pattern at 100 mph!

IIRC, my Falcon 56 didn't like inverted flying much at all.

Gonna try my Webra LS powered Escape for Sportsman next month at Crestview; 12x8 APC with pipe set long to help keep the speed down.
