Como "ST" 75 for pattern
I'm planning on using a Como "Super Tiger" 75 for a pattern ship I designed. The ship weighs less than 7lbs and has a wing span of 65" and is 67" long. My question is what would be a good starting prop for this engine? I have both the stock muffler and a tuned pipe I will be trying out. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and hope you guys have a wonderful weekend.[sm=sunsmiley.gif]

RE: Como "ST" 75 for pattern
;)Hello:
I recomend you to use a tune pipe, ST´s are very good engines and more if they are Italians. For prop i recomend you an APC 11X8 or 11X9 I hope thius help´s! |
RE: Como "ST" 75 for pattern
I think that you will need a st 90 (same size, same weight and MUCH more power) I run a st 61 with 12:10,5 prop and stock muffler on an Phoenix models atlantis at a weight of about 5,5lbs. and it has very good power but not like outrageously much. My fuel is 10% nitro. No matter what st engine you chose, use the pipe it really gives the st´s much more power the the stock mufflers. I also have a Chinese st 90 that is just as good as the Italians.

RE: Como "ST" 75 for pattern
I have the Como 75 so I need to use it. I guess I'll go with the pipe, but what about props? Would a 12x10 be enough or should I try a 13x8? I'm flying it this weekend so I need to determine what I should start with. What rpm (realistic) should I be looking for on this engine with the pipe? The engine is used, but not damaged in any way. Thanks guys for all of your input.:D Hope you have a wonderful weekend.[sm=sunsmiley.gif]

Querido Joel:
I recomend you start with an APC 11X9 , 11X10 or maybe 11X11 that would be a good starting point, SALUDOS |
RE: Como "ST" 75 for pattern
Thanks Neto. Just curious, are you from Mexico or are you simply transplanted there? I have family on my mom's side that live in Monterey. Actually, they live on a street/road called Sarafin Pena near El Cierro de La Cilla. Now, I'm not questioning your prop recommendations, but isn't the ST/Como 75 more of a torque engine and not a high rpm engine? Again, thanks for your help:D

Yes....i am from Monterrey, México and i know very well that street, my dentist is almost two blocks from SerafÃ*n Peña. WHera are you exactly located near San Antonio?, Mc. Allen or Laredo? neither of this 3? SALUDOS |
RE: Como "ST" 75 for pattern
I was born in Mcallen, but now live just minutes from san antonio. I'll be firing up the 75 later today to see how it runs. I'll try the props you mentioned and see what happens. Thanks and hope you have a great work week.
