Kondor Aresti III
Kondor Models is now selling the Aresti III for $375. Is this too good to be true for a competition level pattern plane? I am looking for comments from anyone who has real world experience with this plane.

Do a search. Someone had a thread on that plane recently, AeroBob I think.

RE: Kondor Aresti III
We are sold out until our next shipment arrives...mid/late May. This shipment will have the new builtup/sheeted wings vs. the previous foam core/sheeted.
Also a big thank you to AeroBob for being the first person in the US to review our F-3A Arresti III. Please visit his website. Matt |
RE: Kondor Aresti III
Thank you, Matt. For those who may be curious - I am not sponsored, nor otherwise connected to Kondor or ESM models. Like many of you, I saw the thread from the Aussie guys a few months back, did some research, made my decision, and here it is.
I would not hesitate to get another - in fact, I'll be getting a second out of the June shipment - because it is good enough. For the money, you will not find better - period. I will be competing with mine in District 6 this season....some minor issues with my particular airplane, but ESM has been very responsive and has taken my feedback for some improvements very well. Bottom line - any of us could spend one heck of a lot MORE money, and have far less performance to show for it!!! Not to mention the work it would take to FINISH others. You all should know that it is a balsa/ply design that is laser cut, jig built, with real glue, and covered. Where you gonna match that for less than $400 to your door?????? |
RE: Kondor Aresti III
Now now Bob, don't you know your plane has to be made of all composites to be competetive? Wood planes simply can't compete.

:D And all this time, I thought it was just that I couldn't fly worth a s-%# !!!
(It has it's blue pants on now....after Jerry guilted me into installing 'em!) YES - The red triangular thing on the cowl top is a duct. Has an internal dam directing air onto the main bearing area of the crankcase. Keeps bearing life longer. See website for detail pics. It's made out of 1/32" plywood, shaped, CA'd, filleted...it's a functional item, not a cosmetic one! |
