Need advice on 2004 NATS

I will be taking my family down to Muncie in the middle of July. I am a sports flyer that is interested in learning pattern but I am going as a spectator. If you have been there can you tell me:

1) Is this event spectator friendly?
2) Is it a good place to bring family that doesn't fly but likes to watch?
3) should I bring a plane to fly? (non competition)
4) Are there places or times where non competitors can fly?
5) any recommendations on where to stay?
6) are there other things to do in or around Muncie?
7) Is one week to long in the area for non competitors?

Thanks

Charlie

There's no flying except for competition in fact even after the pattern Nat's was over last year they wouldn't even let us the competitotrs, fly on Thursday afternoon, but there are clubs in Muncie that you could fly at. Indy is less than an hour away theres alot to do there if you have young kids there's a great Childrens meuseum, the Indy 500 mueseum, and zoo.

I didn't think I'd be able to fly there, but it's nice to know that there is a placethat I can Play(fly) and the kids can have some fun too.

Thanks

Hi Charlie,
Check the NSRCA.org for the district one schedule. About half a dozen events in your area under a three hour drive. Love to see you on the circuit

Great! That was my hope to get you to some of the local events. Is the co-CD at the BDS Pattern Challenge I will see you at all three. I will make sure to keep my out to introduce myself. If you every have any questions or want to practice drop me a line.
You will have a ball at the Nats between the facilities, museum and competition there is a lot to see.

The Nats is a great experinece for a family. The only draw back is that you cant fly at the nats if you are not a competitor,But if you come you are welcome to bring your family to my house(rented for the nats),, and fly electrics with my dad , raiko potter, peeter collison, andrew jesky ,and myself(ac glenn).

Anthony,

I am looking for someone in the NY-NJ area. That wouldn't mind walking me through the basics for competition. Would you know of anyone in NYS or northern NJ?

Charlie

Harrier boy,

I didn't think about bringing an electric park flyer. That could be fun. I look forward to meeting you at the nats.

My schedule is a little difficult the next few weeks but I am in Westchester NY. If you want to come north some weekend drop me an email. Have you read the getting started page on www.NSRCA.org? Glad to help however I can.
